The ever Famous Leonard Nimoy, made famous as Spock in Star Trek, has passed away today from COPD.
Mr. Nimoy announced last year that he had the disease, which he attributed to years of smoking, a habit he had given up three decades earlier. He had been hospitalized earlier in the week. He was 83.

This is truly a sad day. He has lived long, and he prospered. May he do the same in the next life.

Let us all remember this amazing person, and never forget.
As a man once said: "Live long, and prosper." -Leonard Nimoy 1931-2015

Aye, an amazing person indeed, mesmerizing voice and look, talented actor and above all great man. He will be missed ....
I am an emotional person and now that shock wears off, I'm starting to acccept this sad news ...
-
I was shocked but not totally surprised as his condition had worsened.
He will be so missed.
May his Katra live on forever.

He flies with the Great Bird now, and the First Lady. Bones is looking after him now, and Mr Scott guides them to wherever it is they are going now... free at last.
-
May he rest in peace.
"...A far better resting place that I go to than I have ever known."

May he rest in peace.
"...A far better resting place that I go to than I have ever known."
"Of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most...human."

"He's really not dead. As long as we remember him."

It is sad indeed. I am also not liking the shatner beating that has gone on. I'm sure bill is devastated not to go but the press love to demonise people. I personally would have asked paramount to offer their private jet. God knows both men had earned them countless millions over the years.

Yeah, the Shatner bashing is appalling. I can understand why he isn't going, but honestly thing that that's the way Nimoy would have wanted it. Gotta say the funeral came around damned quick though.
I know a lot of people dislike Shat for the way he USED to be. He does seem to have done his best to make amends and he does do some really good work. I think a lot of that came from his friendship with Leonard.

I say, "damned if he do, damned if he don't"
Since he was signed up months ago for a Red Cross charity event, if he had decided to ditch the event, and gone to the funeral, people would be bashing him for not going to the event. The bashing is uncalled for, and makes me ashamed of my fellow mankind.

Shatner said as much on Twitter. The way some people are acting, you'd think he purposely planned the event so he could skip the funeral. Say what you will about his relationship with Takei, Koening, and Nichols, but Bill and Leonard were good friends. He's grieving as much as any of us.
