My folks went to a William Shatner play and were able to get their pictures taken with him afterwards last week. :dance  I so wish I was there.   :(

They are so lucky! Hopefully someday you get to go and meet William Shatner.

I can go one better. Bear with me :)
I was the duty driver for my unit, making the daily test samples run from the unit medical officer to the local hospital when horror of horrors my land rover lost all drive.  I coasted to a halt outside a lovely house just outside the village of Skipton-upon-Swale.  No sooner had I got out to look under the bonnet the home-owner came out to see if he could help.  The home-owner was none other than Sir Patrick Stewart.  That man loves his rovers and he diagnosed it (correctly) as a snapped cam belt before I could even get a good look at the engine!  He let me use his phone to call my unit for recovery and even made me a cup of tea while we waited for my guys to come get me and the rover. 

I wish I had a camera with me.  The most galling thing? The camera I'd ordered the previous week from amazon turned up that evening :picardfacepalm:

Though I have never meet in person Mr Shatner, I have had the good fortune to be in the same room as him a couple of times.

First times was back in 1994 at a convention at the Royal Albert Hall (also there was George T, Walter K, Jimmy D as well as Will W, Jennifer L and Ethan P. The TNG cast were filming first contact). Lenoard Nimoy was supposed to appear with him but could not make it.

The second time was in 2008 whilst on Honeymoon in LA we got so free tickets to see the Tonight show with Jay Leno.
Other guests were Gene Simmons and Tricia Helfer.

When she came on she was bigging up Battlestar as the best sci-fi show, dismissing all other sci-fi shows right in front of James.T.Kirk himself and that they had decided to finish after 4 seasons. Shatner cool as brass turned to her and said "So you got cancelled then" She did not know how to responed. I bet she wished she has a quater of the career Sir William of Shatner has had. And yes as a Canadian and a memeber of the Commenwealth he could be knighted too. That would be so cool.
