Title: newbie - general questions

Hello, as the title says I'm a newbie at the entire game. I've had it since it came out but thought that nobody played this game anymore. I had some really green general questions.

1) How to battle? It's pretty much the core of the game but I just tell ops to fire at will. Is it better to fly the ship yourself and fire manually? I don't see how.

2) I installed the 1.1 patch and Kobayashi Maru v0.9. But how do I use the fancy ships? Only thing I've found in the quick battle mode is different bridges. And there are different missions too where you can use a Warbird, but where can you select the Prometheus, Nova, etc.? Only in multiplayer?

Answer to 1:
Because the AI isn't that good.


2. You go to Quick Battle and set up a quick battle with all the fancy ships you want.

2.5: make sure the mutators are on.
