Seconded, but I'm unsure about the cream on the walls...haven't seen ST1 for a while, but I don't recall'em being that color too.

This looks great so far, but I think that display You applied next to communications should be placed on that last display next to viewscreen, cuz it was meant to fit only this display.

I just had a nerdgasm.

This is by far my favorite style bridge...it is perfect...now all I need is a connie refit that does not explode from one lucky torpedo hit.

Brilliant work. It's always been my favourite bridge design, so it's wonderful to finally see it underway.

This was always my favorite brige era too. All the lights and buttons make it seem like they are still learning. I was never a big fan of the TNG magic touch sreens, where every console can do every job.

Absolutely love the weapons console in the dark corner. Is it going to have that little "manual fire" torpedo handle?

Keep it going, can not wait for it. AWESOME

Again, thank you do much for bringing us this bridge. I look forward to it with much anticipation when it comes out.

Quick Question, are you still planning to make the ST IV Voyage Home Bridge? Thanks again for all your hard work!

not sure if its worth the work as you only see it for about 10 seconds at the end anyway
Title: Re: TEP: The Motion Picture Bridge

ST4 bridge is very similiar to ST2,3 bridge the main difference are consoles displays, pillars between every station (like in ST5,6 bridge) with light strip on them and of course lighting, bridge is very bright.
Consoles will be very easy to make and so will be lighting and colors but I don't know about pillars cuz they would have to be modelled and textured.

It's also worth noting that it would be the Yorktown's bridge, not the Enterprise's. It seems they made a big deal about changing the set for Star Trek 5, suggesting that in-universe, Starfleet was refitting the Yorktown's bridge after she was renamed Enterprise.

For My taste they should have leave ST5 bridge set for ST6... wait now I've realized We don't have ST5 bridge which is very similiar to ST6... I think I'll add this retexture to My 'to do list'  :P

There actually is a ST:V bridge retexture, but its pretty low res and outdated now, and the colors were allways wrong to begin with, way to beige.  Anyway, I'd love a real looking ST:V bridge to go along with all the rest of them.

on topic, the TMP bridge is looking awesome, very cannon.  Great job on those textures Dr_Mccoy.

My fav was the "khan" bridge. I personally hope they do the reliant bridge too(I know it was planned)

Doc McCoy built me an awesome ship off the miranda that could use the proper bridge.

Anyway this project is the one Ive been waiting for the most, the work looks excellent.

Is there going to be a way to script in extra crew guys since the tactical stattion is in that corner alcove? the helm will look weird with an empty chair. :(

Thats been done on others so i dont see why not...

anyway i have a few projects on the go so this one is gonna have to wait a little while before i update it... doesn't mean its shelved or dead.
Title: Re: TEP: The Motion Picture Bridge
Post by: bsilver2988 on September 27, 2007, 01:03:23 PM
why would we need to script in extra guys on the tactical station?

Felix at the corner tactical station
Kiska at the helm (Left front)
Miguel at the science station
Brex at the engineering station
and put Saffi at the navigation station (right front)

the only person we'd need to script in extra is the communications station, which would look a lot less strange

Holy Thread ressurection, Batman! :)

Sean sent me the TMP bridge mesh, and the following is about a days work. :D

> Floor redone to work with Walk FX
> Roof changed
> Poop- Loads of textures added (courtesy of Dr. Mcoy)
> Additional mesh changes, etc...

Once again... the Enterprise project is (kinda) up and running. ;)
I plan to do the Final Frontier Bridge aswell, as its relativley simple, and one of my favs.

Comments/ Suggestions welcome :)

great looking bridge! i got a question/suggestion. you know when you go to Red Alert in the Intrepid Bridge the center console near the Captain/XO pops out?  well, could you design it so that the Torpedo throttle pops out and the Captains chairs arms close in?

If you mean by red alert features maps swaping like I did on miranda bridge then don't worry I can script map swaping here ;)

btw. this bridge won't have animated displays as planned ? if it will have anims then i'll make a set of animated screens if needed.

Title: Re: TEP: The Motion Picture Bridge
Post by: Bones on May 07, 2008, 04:24:43 PM
Animated maps are indeed cool, I wish we could make them more them at least 10 frames per anim, also note that not every display on this bridge was animated, enviro status, engineering displays, damage and ship status, small msd displays and those four screens behind capt. chair in ST2,3 are not animated + most of the buttons are non anims, the only really animated screens are science, auxiliary, comm and few more scrrens.
Title: Re: TEP: The Motion Picture Bridge
Post by: Aeries on May 07, 2008, 04:31:26 PM
Hmm. Yeah, though I think it would add a sort of 'genuine' feel with them... with a bridge this, simply, awesome... I'd hate to see it go without the animations that bridge did have. Also, for red alert, will the bridge dim to that absolute blood red like in the wrath of kahn? :D I SOOOOO loved that! I think it would also be ever so awesome to see a variant with all the damage as seen in ST:3.

But that's enough from me. Amazing work so far. I'm eager to see how you progress. :)

~Aeries.

I agree that you should not add animations where there were none, however, I think that the ones that were there, should be there. I love your miranda bridge Doc, but it felt so barren without any animated textures.
Title: Re: TEP: The Motion Picture Bridge
Post by: Bones on May 07, 2008, 04:44:43 PM
Yeah I felt that either tho I just had to try out map swaping :D then I'll start from monday works on animated maps (hope Intercepter or Sean or anybody from 3DE will be able to add them) on those displays which had them.
I also agree it will look alot better with even some of the displays animated ;)

Also as soon as this set is finished I'll ask 3rd Era team for permission to make ST 3 variant for which I have separatelly made custom displays that fit ST3 only as well as additional displays for ST2... infact I have different displays sets for ST1,2,3,4 (not finished) + reliant :D but I think I've already mentioned this ;)

animating specific maps is easily done,.. I can quite happily do the if Interceptor isnt quite sure how...

as for seeking permission to to do the ST3 varient... Theres no need to retexture this set. Remember this is the TMP set. Not the TWOK or TSFS set

i must strongly disagree.  as it was..there were very few animated maps on the bridge.  the ones that were were hardly noticeable.  and if you make a texture animated..you lose the ability to have that texture change to a red alert status texture.

everyone take note of that prometheus bridge retexture that came out not too long ago.   Not one animated map...and they all changed at red alert.  sheer beauty.  imagine what we could do with this bridge and alert status texture swapping.

i vote to leave out the animated maps.

I have an idea :D lets make two variants of TMP bridge : the one with animated maps and the second one without anims but with green/yello/red alerts map swaping + I think damage indicators could become handy on this bridge as it has three screens with damage status :D remember Enterprise A bridge and damage/shields display in between helm-navigational station ??? :D

How about animations and map swapping?

 :o :D I knew you'll find out how to do that !

I don't know all cases all at once. :P
But everyone that is currently part of the texture swap routine (for Alert changes for instance) will allow animated maps the BP Core way.
Title: Re: TEP: The Motion Picture Bridge
Post by: Bones on May 09, 2008, 08:18:43 AM
So if I understand you correctly you can actually have animated maps by BP Core instead of attaching them into NIF file ???
If that's the way it works then I think I'll better focus on making few more frames to those TMP displays :D and make some cool red alert displays with animations :D

btw. what about nemesis sovereign bridge upgrade, doeas it have animation added in to NIF or animated by BP Core ???

The only thing I said was that if there are maps animated through the nif, then you can't change them through BPCore (animated or otherwise).

How or what you do is for yourself.

About the Nemesis Sovereign Bridge upgrade, I'm not sure, if it's the stock Sovereign Bridge upgrade, then it has BPCore animated maps (or rather, a mix between the 2, BPCore for the new parts, nif animations for the old).

As a rule, you could say that any map referenced in the bridge plugin can be animated. And, don't forget, there are more maps than those mentioned.

Sounds good enough to make anims on that TMP bridge through BP Core and have them swapable on red/yellow alerts :D

How about the simple animations used in TMP, with the little lines and mabye the warp equation too. I just dont want to see the animations of 4, 5, and 6.

Well of course there will be animations, since we can animate displays through BP Core and have animated maps swapable at the same time, I can only hope Sean and Intercepter are planning to make anims if yes then I'm ready to start with them :D

decided to dig this out of the back up discs a couple of days ago. Lighting is not anything like it should be, just a temporary set up to allow me to continue with textures. about 60% textured already.

Fantastic, this has always been my favourite bridge! We will drink to this bridge with Picard's Aldebaran whiskey!
Can't wait to see this in BC.
But... can I say only an opinion? I don't want nitpickying, but I think there is an imprecision in the helm-tactical consolle: in this model there is a space between the consolle and the step while in the original the helm-tactical is on the edge (see picture), but the bridge is perfect this is only a llittle imprecision! :D
Obviousely cookie...

Oh, I hope you do manage to finish this...the TMP/TWOK/etc. style was probably my favorite bridge (probably because Wrath of Khan and Search for Spock are my two favorite Trek films). I signed up just to see what you've come up with, so if your carpet is a little wet...it's the drool. *grin*

Justin B From Star Trek Lexington here.. If you guys need any graphics for the consoles we have them. We were originally going with the ST 1-3 Bridge but decided to aim for the 6 Bridge in the end. We also have the ST 4 Bridge which is really the same bridge just only difference is its mostly touchscreens.. Just shoot me a pm and ill see what I can get sent over.
