anyone know how to restore the nanoFX ship explosions on a km install. KM's warp core breaches are nice and all, but i dont think every ship in the startrek universe dies via warp core breach. That, and on most of the ships, the detonation hardly fragments the ship, i'd say more like splits it down the middle. if it's a big ship that is, the smaller ones either get a small hole where the warpcore was, or take no appearance damage at all. it's alot of noise of internal explosions, followed by a mild boom. i'd really like my nanofx one back.

to do what I think you're trying to do will require a long explanation.
you'd better go to the old BCU and read the modding manuals there so you're more familiarized with the tecniques. I can point you towards hardpointing and scripting.

isnt it a DS9FX thing, tho? turning off the "Stability Fix" in the DS9FX options should solve the issue of ships breaking apart into multiple "chunks" when exploding and such?
is that how you mean, Fox?

jimmy, the stability fix controls weather the ship disappears after destruction, not how it blows itself appart. atleast, that's what it does in mine
Nighthawk, at present i'm not trying to do anything at all, i'm just asking a general question if anyone could come up with an instruction file to atempt this, i currently understand little more than where most stuff is, how to edit hardpoints, and the painfully iritating task of rebuilding my previous install over my KM install to make it work togeather. i mean, unless you have a link to an online edtion of Python for dumbies, i'm probibly not going to get anywhere with making a script to correct this without step by step instructions, or several months worth of equivilant apprenticeship. im not a fast learner when it comes to languages, be it human or computer languages.

ah, ok.
well, first of all, get the SDK from bcfiles so you can get the model property editor.
I'll be posting the rest of the help after I have slept my dream quota, which at this point is highly delayed zzzZZZzzzz.....
