Title: Generations And Excalibur Bridge Viewpoint Problems

If I remember correctly, this exact same thing happened on the Ambassador bridge when it was first released.

Anyway, when starting on the Generations bridge, your viewpoint is in the tatical controls, behind the command chair but infront of the guy at tactical.

You are actually standing in the tactical controls.

Also, when walking forward, I couldn't walk very far infront of the command chair, like there was some invisible thing blocking my path. I could walk around the rest of the bridge just fine.

Sounds like an animation problem. Well done on the awesome bridge though.

On the Excalibur bridge, I end up starting stuck in the middle of the floor infron of the command and XO chairs.

Yea, I noticed that with the Gen bridge.. and she is my favorite! hope we can get a fix for that  :)

I'm afraid I haven't been able to reproduce this problem on the Generations bridge.

yeah, I don't have it aswell...
but another prob...
one of the 2 birdges disabled the bridge scrolling button :(

Did you activate, or deactivate, the Sneaker Bridge Menu Scroller mutator?

And did you install any of the earlier released bridges as well?


Also, going back to the original problem, it sounds to me in the first post that corrected in KM, am I correct?

I had this problem as well Intrepid90, I just reinstalled Bridge Plugin Core (Gold) and that fixed it.

The Excalibur bridge problem wasn't evident in the KM version.

However, the aforementioned problems in the single releases of the Generations and Excalibur bridges are still evident.

Also, I cant seem to turn the EF2 crew off. Even with the fix you provided in a different thread here on BCC.

I think it was an updated sneaker bridge menu script which was out of date in the excelsior pack. either reinstall BPG or find the script in km1 in custom/sneaker. thats what i done.

Did you activate, or deactivate, the Sneaker Bridge Menu Scroller mutator?

And did you install any of the earlier released bridges as well?

The problem on excalibur was in km1 when you start a qb using the excalibur bridge.

As for the generations bridge, its something to do with the generations script, which ive had before on a bridge and can easily be fixed.

As for the EF2 crew, you should have read the readme. It replaces the stock crew so you can't get rid of them. Though in cases, like my voygaer crew conversion will still work as i directed them to alternate models.

All you can do it by getting the original crew scripts in bridges/crew on an old install and replace them with the ef2 with them, then edit the ef2 scripts, rename them all like ef2saffi etc and change it in the autoload. Its abit brief, but catch me over msn if you dont get it.

My fix does that, except for including the original crew files, which I said in that post to do (swap out with the original files).

So there you have it, for Sneakers Menu Scroller, and the bridge problems, reinstall BP Core Gold.

Hi MLeo,

I'm still having the Generations And Excalibur Bridge problems mentioned by Billz? Reinstalling BP Core Gold only fixes the bridge menu scroller problem.

Ive reinstalled BPCore Gold twice. I deleted the pyc files to make sure. Still getting problems on the bridges mentioned.

Ok Generations Galaxy problems with the captain sitting in the tactical seat has been fixed so you sit in the captains seat. Also ive fixed the excalibur so then you sit in the captains sit, not kissing your XO feet.

The two pys attached should go in

So what was the problem, since Ive never been able to reproduce these issues I find it hard to debug.

Dead easy... the base camera position was totally in the wrong place. all it needed was the correct co-ordinates inputted for the camera to be at the captains chair.

Im amazed you guys at 3rd era havent found this problem as its been around since the release of km1, and probably even earlier come to think of it.

Like Mark and I said, we get the correct positions out of the box, no strings attached.

I was going to second Billz on the problem, but it's already fixed.

another one I want to report (no thread HJ intended) is a pulsating lag in red alert in the Generations bridge. not a problem, but messes gameplay a bit.

Happens on the Intrepid bridge aswell. I think its just because of large texture sizes.

The lag when switching alert status doesnt bother me one bit. I just hate blurry textures though so I go for the best. My card can handle them. Its just my ram that is in need of an upgrade to completely get rid of any lag that is left.  :P

Actually I'm retarded, once I registered I was able to see the attachments for the Generations Captains seat fix. Sorry for waisting peoples time. Thank you.
