My Aunt's inheritance was poorly timed to coincide with the release of: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalog/QUATERMASTERS_STORE_TITANS_31.html
There goes ?550 on the most awesome model I've ever seen. I got the 2x Laser Blaster variant.
Should arrive just after my finals. Will have to start making progress on my warhound...
-
Thats almost 700 ? ... How big is this thing?
-
It's about 16" tall.
-
I'd prefer this (http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/40kmanta2.htm) personally :P! Tau Manta. Largest model ever produced by GW. 63cm long, 86cm wide and weiging in at a massive 12.5 kg. This thing has a hanger for 4 tanks and 8 battlesuits as well as seating for 4 dozen Fire Warriers, 6 Gun Drones and a Tau Ethereal!
-
I dare you to paint it in Hello Kitty colours.
-
The Manta is impractiaclly large, being a flier, using it as such would be impossible. A Reaver is a walker, and can stomp around a battlefield as much as it likes. :D
-
How would it be impossible? Using it a game would bt. It would take up half the arena!
-
If you choose your landing site carefuly, of cource it can stomp things.
-
Nope, only walkers can stomp. Strength 10 Power weapon attack against every engaged model. Mmmmm. Then they have to fall back, and any survivors can be shot.
-
So, if a tank drives over a cliff and falls over a unit it doesn't stomp? :(
-

I completely second that! O_O;
I never did play Warhammer, though. (this IS Warhammer, right? O.o;) Heh... those look like Decepticons!
-
Yup, Warhammer 40k.
-
Ya, and if the Manta lands on you, its instant splatter! WS of 1 and AP 1 :P!

Did I show you people the Hello Kitty Marines at any point? I'm going to have the dig out the picture...

Dude, you're a bad, bad man...

Hehe. There's a guy at my store likes to turn up with a load of super-heavy tanks for apocalypse games. It'll be fun to turn up with the Reaver and blow them away at a rate of two per turn.

DO IT! :D :D :D :D

With Apocalypse, they did say that you have to get used to removing about fourty infantry models per turn and not be too alarmed if you're tanks start biting the dust straight away.
-
I'd mention something about the price, but then I saw that it has free shipping...
P.S. Manta: ?900.00? Zomfg.
-
Against a mechanised columnit wouldn't be unusual if the reaver blew away eight in one turn (4 templates each touching 4 vehicles, half destroyed) AND the vast majority of a 50 man conscript platoon in one turn of shooting (apocalypse missiles)
-
the vast majority of a 50 man conscript platoon in one turn of shooting
Isn't that just normal for a conscript platoon? Their only use is to stick in front of your commanders with a big sign marked "Eat Us First".
-
It was just the biggest sized unit I could think of. The Apocalypse Missile Launcher will chew through an equally sized unit of guants, orks or space marines with the same ease.
-
I should hold this thread responsible for the fact that I now own a Land Raider Crusader (but it's soooo pretty....).
-
I heard a rumour that a plastic Land Raider Crusader may be coming out.
-
wow i love that chaos titan, its a damn shame i cant afford 1, ill just have to stick to starting a normal chaos army

That would be useful, considering that the Hurricane Bolters (as nice as they are) are a pain in the arse to assemble with super-glue...
