Oh, come on, I would have totally voted for my saber shotgun. :arms:
As model design I like Armondikov but as a saber design I like Executioner's.
-
Ive chosen youre first entry, just a single render was alowed anyways. :) its in the threat rules
-
This is close :P I'm starting to appreciate the iSaber much more now.
-
lol :hurr
-
Armondikov, did you design your saber to split into two? O_O;
-
That is actually a really awesome Saber model there, Armondikov... that needs to be in KotOR. Heh heh.

No, but the on-going project (inspired by discussions at SFM) is to have the Wakisashi and Tanto versions made and placed on an extended stand. It's going to be interesting, but not an appropriate project for this competition as it was specifically for a saber design and one (:P) only.

Aww, man! Oh well...
Well, I'm VERY fond of this design, it's fraking amazing. :) Well done, dude. Cookie. And, will you be making another thread to show off the set of blades? :D

Link please?
I always get lost on SFM (I'm a lurker there, and failing at that :P).

It's interesting, usually my threads die quickly due to lack of interest but this one has gone two pages on the strength of two not that brilliant images. The discussion on sword practicality obviously helped, though. I'm also still on a fairly high replies:views ratio, which is good. Must be the side effects of doing something related to the BIG FOUR* for a change.
*A term I just made up. That'd be Star Wars, Star Trek, Stargate, Battlestar Galactica (anything with star in it, apparently). These always get a lot of (I'd say too much) attention on SFM. I rarely read the Star Trek ship WIPs, as to me, they all look the same. The BSG ones can be good, but at one point a few months ago the first page of WIPs was almost entirely people's deisgns for Battlestars. And as I've ranted before, I avoid canon stuff as a rule because people tend to heavily criticise even the smallest inaccuracies and variations, and some of them don't do it very constructively if you know what I mean.

Fraking flamers. :/

Not so much flamers as people who are pretty much up their own arse. They're getting rare thankfully, but I'm still staying away from "canon".
-
Ah, agreed. :/

Remember the REWARD is the cookie, dont cookie the cookie to fast...
Ps.: i like chocolate cookies
-
Are you supposed to give reasons for giving cookies? I assumed it was an unregulated free-for-all. I know you only get the ability to give and recieve after a certain number of posts though.
-
Armond gotz teh cookie now. His was one of those big double-chocolate ones with nummy icing. :D

Actuallly in the 2 polling threats yes, we sayed that the winner of the contest gets cookies from the voters as a reward. its all in the main threat :D
-
THose are pretty darn cool, I wish I could render my design in 3d. :P
-
As a very big fan of anything related to samurai's, I feel that I must give Armondikov a nice cozy hug!

Done the basis of the other two now, but I'm not going to put them up here just yet. Still need a lot of work.
-
So far I'm the only person in either thread to not get a vote :(.
-
Awwww... :(

That may be the case, but there are comparatively very few people voting and you're up against some very experienced modellers. In the future, if you keep up the work, practive with your modelling skills and design skuills you'll start pulling in more votes, and eventually be winning competitions like this.

I knew I was gonna lose when I went in anyway. Had fun messing around with the glow. Again, my thanks to lint for his help!

Can help you with a real glow :)
1. Make a Material, Opacity 100, Specular 0, Glossines 10, Soften 0,1,Ambient and Diffuse the same colours (will be youre saber colour), Change the Material ID Channel to lets say 2.
2. In videaopost add lenseffect glow, and the view you wana render at normal perspective.
3. In the glow setting, Change the ID to 2, In prefences set the Effect size pretty low lets say 0,2.
4. Dont forget that the saber should cast light on reflections, add omni light to the blade for that, very simple and effective (dont forget to change the omni colour and the radius of it Ps.: dont let the saber omnis cast a shadow :)
Hope i havent forgoten something, its a very simple and effective blade glow :) have fun
