Post by: UFDF Charlie on June 14, 2008, 10:11:27 AM
I was just wondering if the team would ever re-make the Enterprise NX-01 Bridge? or the one that was made 2 years will be the last one ? im sorry if this is the wrong place to put.

What's wrong with the current ones (yes, plural, there are multiple NX-01 Bridges, all the diffferent ones we've seen on screen)?

Would 3rd Era make a better improved NX-01 Bridge? or will the ones on bcfiles be the last?

Have you read item 4 in this sticky in the Bridge Modding forum?

Why don't you have a go yourself. People always request mods but most of us have our hands full. If it's moddeling then I can understand because it's more complicated but if it's a retexture you want then their not too bad to have a go at. Just get yourself a copy of photoshop and start retexturing. That's what I did.

Or if your looking for good free programs for picture editing, GIMP and Paint.net are good as well.

If GIMP doesn't support something, then you mostlikely won't need it. ;)

I've never used it. I use photoshop which I find to be excellent

Fair enough, as long as you find one you like.

Did I mention Paint.Net? That's also a rather good option.

wait....what??

You seriously think the generation's galaxy bridge needs reworked? when it's one of the last released bridges?  What do you find wrong with it if I may ask?

Wow, ungrateful much? If you're so disappointed with it, why don't you make your own bridge?

Actually I would agree that the model for the NX01 is rough at best, I did start a new model for it before Excalibur kicked off but obviously atm we have our hands full with the more modern bridges.

After Excalibur is finished I have plans for it though, that's all I'm going to say.

as for the Generations Galaxy, all I can do is apologise with the utmost sincerity...

Personally, I think they're both beautiful, and definately convey the immersion of being on a bridge of that era. Though I don't recall the Generations bridge having those panels line up, the LCARs would have to be set up awkwardly, the only thing I see is a small one, the textures continue under the front console, but you'd really only notice it if you look for it, so...

I love every piece 3rd Era have done, hopefully I'll eventually have a bridge to rival you and the rest of the teams works!

On the topic of the NX-01 bridge, I am looking for some bridge sounds for, well, the bridge. I am updating it to use BP sounds, however I am having a very tough time tracking down video reference material of various sounds (hail, red alert, etc.) as well as finding said sounds. Any help would be appreciated.

as far as i know, there is nothing available; short of trying to record it from the eps themselves with all the background music/noise included...  nothing like STINSV was (such a loss that site is gone...  there was so much on it...)
i could be wrong in that maybe some site somewhere has the Ent sfx, but i have never been able to find one...

hopefully someone else will have better luck than me...

I thought the NX-01 bridge didn't have a red alert?

I haven't seen much of Enterprise, so that's why I'm desperate for reference material.

if you can get the eps on dvd and such, then you can perhaps record certain sfx directly from the show, and use a program to try and filter out the background crap and try to clean it up a bit...
thats honestly the only thing i can think of...  hopefully (again) someone else has a better suggestion..
