Well, I finally did enough to show some progress. As soon as I've added the equipment on the top, I'll get started on the Warp Sled. Not sure about the interchangable pods as I've only seen them side on. I will however need somebody to contact me regarding textures, so either through this thread or through PM so we can discuss how to transfer the file.

So until the next update this friday, enjoy.

Compliments and criticism are more than welcome and requested, as usual.
-
Looking good so far, neighbor :D

-
Yeah, finally found Boolean Combine, haha. Works wonders, and that only took me under an hour. But with the SUPERSECRETPROJECT I'm working on, that hour was as much as I could work on it. :v: If this turns out well, the other Trek project will look fantastic.

-
very nice , BC needed the Warp sled \ shuttle.

-
It looks nice.  One question that comes to mind is that-- will it be MVAM compatible?

ABOUT BLOODY TIME! Looking great there, Prime! :D Don't forget the sled attachment, too!! :D

And who better to bring it in than the new guy?

Yes, it will be MVAM compatible, as suggested in the Jenolan thread (Another TMP project I've got running alongside this)

Thank you, but I have enough reference pictures, though those would be good for whoever wishes to texture it. ;)

 Don't worry mate, I wouldn't dream of adding a non-warp capable ship. :v:

 EXACTLY!!! That's what I say!

 Best luck, Prime!

Good. Now, back to work with ya! I want updates by the time I get off work this afternoon, darnit! [haha, just kidding dude. Don't rush the art. :D]

 Again, best luck!
-
Lol, you know, with something I just discovered, it may be ready for texturing by tomorrow night. Damned modelling, why must it be so addictive?

-
Thats good to hear, is anyone lined up for texturing at all?

-
Most excellent, makes me glad now I've drop the piece of c@&p shuttle I started for my hanger deck.

You're quite welcome to take the model once it's all done up Baz, after seeing your work, I'd be honoured to see anything of mine alongside yours, if that's what you're implying.

As for the textures, not yet.
-
I'm stoked. can't wait to see this to completion. :]

-
I'll look forward to parking a couple in my hanger.

Side note: could my hanger be used as a spacedock replacement so we could see the shuttle dock in the game?

If you set it as part of the ship model and have that ship as a Starbase, I'm sure it could be worked out.
-
				great start m8.

-
Oooh! Oooh! Very off-topic, but I you made a connie with MVAM for bay doors open and bay doors shut, you could make it so that you launch shuttles only when the doors are open, from the shuttle bay. *Dies from excitement*

Oh, by the way Prime your models look very nice and smooth, I'm jealous.
-
Thanks for the comments, guys. Just got back from watching Hancock (OH, MY, GOD) so I'm taking a night off modelling to rave about the movie to friends all night (Watch out Kirk, I'm coming for you. ;D)

That'd be a good idea, actually, The Open Doors model could feature the hangar model inside, and the shuttle could sit snugly (She WILL be canon-ily sized) inside.

That model was looking nice, until I came upon a very, very big problem. I started from scratch, shuttle model is 80% complete model-wise, Atai-class Warp Sled is yet to be built. The new one looks MUCH better, I promise.
-
If by the hanger your refering to mine it will be release by the end of the weekend for download.

Just have to add the shuttle control room and so issue with the fantail door to resolve

The door wouldn't be a problem as you'd only see it externally, but man, you could be responsible for some amazing beauty shots with that kind of feat. I'll contact you when the shuttle model is complete if you'd like to play with it/go over it. I wouldn't mind an early opinion on the model itself.
-
Would love to give you my view of your shuttle when your ready and also with your permission release a V2.1 version of the hanger with your shuttle included with full credit of course.

I'd also (with your permission of course) like to see if I can transplant the interior I started from my aborted shuttle into your model. Or just finish the interior for a bridge to go with your shuttle.

Mate, you've got my blessing! :D But I can't give you textures to go with it, haven't/don't have the time to pick up that as well (I promise guys, I'll stop saying that now). You were building a shuttle interior? That could be applied to BC, you know...   ;)
-
Well as far as the interior got was cloning my bridge seats and the helm inside my shuttle's hull but it was a start.

-
				Wow, someone's actually working on a request of mine. Those WIP pics look fantastic;
 I'm really impressed. Super job!

Cheers, I lack the imagination to come up with my own ideas, lol. I did a few renders of the new model, I am aware of the smoothing issue, don't worry. All I need to add in to this model is a little more of the equipment on the top, the door on the left side and the rear ornamental bits, then the Sled can be completed (It's currently got the basic shape, and that's all.)

 C&C Are welcome and encouraged.
-
				*hugs the model* Pweeetttyyyyyy....

-
agreed. wish i had half your skill.

-
S**t Prime, that's awesome! (I swear too much, need to cut back.)

-
Haha, ahhh, she ain't that good, canon maybe, but not that pretty, there's a lot I could do to make a v2... I may do that once I've gotten the Voyager Concept started/finished.

Laguardia, all it takes is practise. I'm still learning, but with the things I'm learning with this model will go towards the Voyager Concept, which I still need a class name and name for. I've also started rebuilding the Prime, and she doesn't look anything like her old self. If anybody wants to have a go at texturing the shuttle/warp sled, please let me know soon. If not, I'll release the models for public texturing.
-
All this rebuilding... sounds very familiar. dude, you're learning very fast. I'm impressed with your work. Great job. :D

-
Haha, cheers Aeries, though I can assure she won't have 5 different versions. ;) At most I've got just the one revision I'll do when I've gotten better at modelling. After all, the model itself has only taken a matter of hours, just spread out over a long period. If I sat down for one Saturday (Sober) I'd be able to produce the whole thing again and upload it by the night.

-
				LOl..

you could also do a tng version?  8)
-
A TNG one is a possibility, but I've got 2 other projects to do work on before I consider another version of this after a v2 (The Voyager Concept and the Sydney Class). That and I'm going to try doing a bridge/control room set to fit in with the upcoming DS9FX Xtended. ;) Then there's the Gundam model that I want to experiment with in BC... Speaking of Star Trek, Generations is on Scifi now! Time for a 2 hour break! :D

-
				KEWEL... Top film.. enjoy

I look forward to seeing more on this model, especially the textures..  weatherd? or clean? but either way.. cant wait to see u make a start on them.
-
:v: Texture's may be a problem, as I don't have time to pick up another profession (Already learning Python, modelling, and animation). Hence my constant advertisements for others who have the time/chance/will to texture her for me. I personally was thinking a weathered look, it'd fit better with the TNG era ships.

-
Ships like these would totally be all weathered and old-ish lookin'. :]

-
I have a quick question, regarding the next WIP (I'm starting it tonight, so I'd choose efficiency over error) When building triangular saucer sections, what's the best way to go about it? set the point up at the front and then Extrude it out in sections?

-
I think everyone's got their own method. I, myself, set up a spline outline, created a poly with it, and extruded upwards. I suppose it really depends... :/

Basically what I do with backdrops, so I guess I'm not so far off anyway. Cheers mate. Expect rage on MSN. ;)

 o.o rage? msn? huuuuuh? o.o;;;;;

 *gets food*
-
Well, let's just say I still can't decide which version of the Concept I want, the ugly MVAM version, which would mean I get two ships for the price of one, or... The pretty one that doesn't have super ugly shark fins. Among other things. Haha. That and.. I wanna take the Bonaventure for a spin.

-
My hanger deck is now done and released. I look forward to releasing a Version 2 with your shuttle later.

-
Bumping, I'll be posting updates tomorrow (After rebuilding the TMP shuttle 7 times now).

-
Don't feel bad about it. I have no modeling experience at all.

 Only 7? ;)

Hehe, looking forward to your updates.
-
Okay, I've been procrastinating like crazy with this because I had to rebuild the rear hull so I could boolean the crap out of it. All she's missing is a small amount of detailing on the top (And textures of course). The Warp Sled... Well... I've been really lazy about that too (Plus, being so into the Reinvisioned models, I forgot about it for a bit... :S)

 EDIT: Image was corrupt. :argh:
-
				You're corrupt! :D
Anyways, lookin' good, now it's time to do the textures. (Don't look at me, I'll hp her, but nooo textures)
-
Thanks mate. I'd say I'd texture it, but.. Well.. You know...

-
Found the Sled I had on my USB (in a folder that puzzles the hell out of me). Like I said, I hadn't done very much on it at all...

-
Wonder why it would need a sled THAT large. Always puzzled me. Anywho, wonderful work dude. Much nicer and cleaner than my own. :]

Probably to house the warp nacelles!

 Ooooohhhhhh shizzle you WENT there!

ANYWAYS! We've veered a bit away and spammed a bit. Bottom line: Nice work, Prime. xD
-
Great work Prime, looks very clean.

-
agreed. it looks great. You'll hafta fallow up with a matching tpau.

-
I don't so much mind the spam, guys... Makes my thread look busier :P

I think I could do that, just found a few blueprints, and I wouldn't mind sticking chunky plates of armour onto it either...
