Title: Attempting the Connie
Post by: baz1701 on July 11, 2008, 06:32:22 PM
Before I get into designing my own ship I decided to have a go at an exsiting ship so I'm giving the re-fit enterprise ago.

I'm posting it here as I'm not releasing it for the game as there are already several better ships out there. I'm just intrested in feedback.

Be gentle I know it is not 100% to scale and detailed

Ok, someone has pressed the report function to say this should be in BC modding. However, since he doesn't intend to release it for BC then it should go in the graphics arts forum as a modeling attempt, thus I am moving it there.

She's looking great so far, a virtual tribute to the Connie.

Baz, are you, or are you considering, going into a career with 3D Modelling? I ask simply because you produce such work... in such little time... some would lose an arm, a leg, or even their sense of smell to hire you.

AHHH, just relalised I forgot to save changes to the mesh. Have to rebuild bridge and sensor arrays.

Oh well at least I've got an idea on how to do it.

I wish I could model 1/10th as well as him, that way i'd be an awesome genius.

Thanks all, if only I could learn how to texture I would be happy.

Though I said I would not release the model for the game I will be putting it on file front in max format and again if anyome wants to turn it into a BC ship they have my blessing

Am I the only one that noticed that the bridge module seems really small compared to the whole saucer? Looking at it closer its about half the actual size.

We bow down before your modeling prowess, Baz. May some of your infinitesimal skill and efficiency rub off on lowly peons such as I. ;)

Great work, especially for a side project.

You mean infinite. Infinitesimal means close to 0.

And it is looking pretty darn sweet.

Well if you guys want her to pull her apart and play with I'll upload as is to file front. She is far from canon but with time and alittle work it could be. I just don't have the time, like I said this was a bit of fun.

Maybe the saucer could curve round a bit more, not bisected in half like a cake.
