Title: Tips For Vista Users

Tips for Vista Users

I found out something, when I was messing with BC today. I found out that if you goto your computers power properties, and change it from low to High Performance you get a higher power bill, but things run a lost smoother. Just a tip for Windows Vista Users :P

i'm gonna go ahead and move this over to BC General, since it really isnt a technical problem with BC (like BSOD, crash, etc) :)

among other options....

not to mention that running in low power mode (AKA, only-used-when-used mode) shortens your hardware lifespan.
computer hardware is meant to run online as much as possible (what might be the case of web or FTP servers), not to be brought back and forth from offline to online.
laptops might be meant to resist that on/off switching more than desktop PCs, but it affects the hardware the same, if not more, since laptop components are more fine-tuned than PCs when it comes to power, and thus are more delicate.

but ...well... who does really use Vista actively anyways?

I run mine on the Economy setting to keep the noise down. And I can still play CoD 4 at full resolution!

All I know was, that my BC was running slow and sloppy for a while until I changed that setting lol.
