Seeing the teaser trailer, I thought I'd give it a go at modeling the dry dock the Enterprise was built in
The intention is to animate the launch of the old girl
-
added some textures to the dock and added 2 connies under construction
-
NICE!! Have a cookie.
-
Kewl.
-
I'm not sure that is the shape of the dock...
(not that you see much of it on the trailer anyways :?)
but it's cool...
I recalled Star Wreck 6, the Potkustart leaving earth on vertical take-off :P
name the other two connies the Yorktown and the Lexington... the Yorktown, at least, was said to be sister ship of the Enterprise.
-
I've deliberately left the other saucers un-built at the point of the hull names (don't want to get bogged down with re-texturing the Enterprise) They are only background any way and will not feature to much in the over all film.
BTW I have started animating the film now.

question:
are those shadow maps? what settings did you use?
-
the ships and the dock have there own lights but the main keylight is a Omni light set to 0.7 and off yellow-white with shadow maps on to simulate dusk. Rendering is 3D max defaults.
-
You sure do these things fast! O.o;
-
your work is incredible (fast)
but somehow noone responds :(
-
Well this project is off topic in the sense it is nothing to do with the game.
One thing I have to do it finish what I start I have 5 projects on the go at the moment!!
