Title: What problems would installing SG ship pack v3 on top of version 1+2 cause?
Post by: teleguy on March 05, 2009, 12:11:33 PM
What problems would installing SG ship pack v3 on top of  version 1+2 cause? Would it be possible to fix these problems without much of a hassle?

I'm also having another issue. The Prometheus (BC303) from one of the packs overwrote the Star Trek Prometheus. Even though I could get the ST Prometheus back by reinstalling the ship it's now in a submenu called X303. I already tried deleting the ship plugin and creating a new one wit BCUT but the submenu is still there. How can I get rid of it?

Put a space after the long name.

And make the Foundation.ShipDef.<SomeName> unique as well.

As for the other problems, you will have to ask the authors.

I did what you said, however there's no change in the menu.

You don't need to install v1 or v2 before installing v3. v3 has every ship from v1 and v2 aswell as improvments, making v1 and v2 redundent.

Which Prometheus (Star Trek ship) are you using? Please post a link to which prometheus mod it is.

You should have got the MVAM Prometheus (Star Trek ship) when installing MVAM Infinate as one of the requirements for v3 of the stargate ship pack. The script files for the MVAM Prometheus are independantly named so that they don't interfere with any other ship with Prometheus in its name.

Example:
MVAMPrometheus.py
MVAMPrometheusDorsal.py
MVAMPrometheusVentral.py
MVAMPrometheusSaucer.py

The trouble is that I already installed pack 1 and 2 some time ago since I couldn't find Pack 3 on Bridge Commander Files.

I think it's this one (http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/file/LBprometheus;17363).

you may want to consider using the one included with MVAM Infinite (http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/file/MVAM_Infinite;26555), unless there is a specific reason youre using LB's?

I have that one too but I like the other one better because it doesn't have the strange pulse weapon torpedos.
