Not quite sure what to expect, but it looks like we might have a new Star Trek game, set in the JJ universe! Looks like we're going to get to see some more federation ships in this game than in the movie.
Here's the only taste we have so far:

I'll stick to Bridge Commander thanks.
And what does that D.A.C tag mean. Divide And Conquer?
-
No idea what it means yet, but that is a pretty good idea.
As for the game itself, I doubt have great expectations about it, the only think I'm looking forward to are the ships that are going to be in-game.

It's supposedly going to be downloadable content for PS3/Xbox 360 users and it's supposedly NOT going to be a fully 3d game. Of course, Paramount's still keeping their mouths shut. Jerks. :arms:

Then what could it be do ya think? Star Trek checkers?
Or chess, perhaps, with Nero's squiddy thing and the Enterprise as the king peices? HEY! Believe it or not, that was a serious idea I just had! xD :arms:...DONT LOOK AT ME IN THAT TONE OF VOICE!
Seriously though, what would it be if not 3D? Some sort of simulator as was seen as a portion of the starship creator game?
-
Usually games that are based off movies totally suck, so this "game" doesn't really concern me..
-
The JJprise, along with some JJdaedalus and a JJmiranda against JJromulans. What's this? JJRomulan Wars?
-
Strategy or TBS, is my guess. Or like Age of Booty. Love that game.
-
that would be cool

I bet its long awaited content for the Xbox 360 version of Legacy. Though, no amount of content saved 'that' game (Move along. Nothing to see here).
If it turns out though, to be a Galaga type clone, then I am going to be so p!$$ed.

Impossible for the following reasons.
1)No Bethesda logo.
2)It would actually say Legacy as well as DAC.
3)Its been more than a year since Legacy was released and everything that gets released(by any company for any game in my experience) for a game happens in the first year.

So with the new concepts coming out for the game it looks like that we'll hopefully have some more weird and interesting ships to use in the near future :)
-
So, Encounters with multiplayer but without the ability to go up or down. Itcould be fun :)
-
Why are there flames coming from the back of the enterprise?
-
Because those are not flames, they gave the ships the jet treatment for effect as usual.
-
Ok, NOW we've got some details.

According to that, the sound designer for the Movie is Ben Burtt. He was the sound designer for All the Star Wars movies. The sounds are going to be awesome then.
-
If nothing else, we can always use the models from it in BC.
I'm looking forward to it, I like the top-down arcade-style space shooter ship-combat.
Although, the Romulan ships look more like Orion ships. But that isn't that bad, I like the more agressive look and feel than the typical romulan designs (See attached images to see what I mean). Still hoping on a romulan bird of prey redesign.
I kinda hope this game will be a free download, but I doubt it, Paramount only cares about money.

Second one, screen cap of Star Trek: DAC, notice the similarities?
-
Star Trek DAC is being released for 360's online store first, then for the PS3 through their network, and eventually on Windows PC.
EDIT:
Gameplay video! &feature=channel
Seems a bit like Star Trek Encounters for PS2.
-
Not my cup of tea. Not even close. It looks and feels much more like a cheap space styled arcade game you'd find in a PC bargain bin.
-
that's because it is...
the game is only $10
-
Can't they make a decent Star Trek game anymore? Excalibur FTW!
