Title: Problems making Game Commander 2 work...

I've been trying to get back into BC... I got it when it came out years ago but never finished it; I wanted the immersion of voice control and never got it to work... But anyhoo, I've got Game Commander 2 and I really want to use it with BC, I've been following the instructions below:

"Enclosed is the custom Game Commander 2 profile for Star Trek: Bridge Commander.

To enable Voice Activated Technology, Place this profile in the "Profiles\My Profile" directory within the Game Commander 2 program directory.

Example: C:\Program Files\Game Commander 2\Profiles\My Profile\

Then, select Bridge Commander from the list of custom game profiles (under My Profile), enable Audible Feedback, and launch Star Trek: Bridge Commander with Game Commander 2 (v2.1.001) running in the background.

A patch for Game Commander 2 is located at:

http://www.gamecommander.com/patches/gc2patches.html

Make sure your microphone is properly connected. See instructions included with Game Commander 2 for more information on configuring and operating the Game Commander 2 software, or to learn how to modify this profile or make your own.

I have no idea what it means when it says "Then, select Bridge Commander from the list of custom game profiles (under My Profile)"; maybe I am just stupid but it seems entirely out of context; I have no idea what to do... all I know is that when it says "my profile" and I speak; it says not recognised... any help? I am reluctant to play the game if only half of it is with the awesome immersion of using my voice to command my crew :-/

Post by: MLeo on June 20, 2009, 11:56:44 AM: From what I read in your post, the "profile" file that you put under the MyProfiles (the one for Bridge Commander) can be launched/executed.

Do so, leave it running, and then start Bridge Commander. And that implies that if you do it in this order you will enable voice command in BC.

Post by: MLeo on June 20, 2009, 06:46:27 PM: There probably is (in Game Commander 2) some sort of launch button, try it with the Bridge Commander profile, before actually running BC.

did any window pop up after doing that?
