Title: A simple Question For thouse who like to take Pics of empty Bridges...
Post by: bankruptstudios on July 23, 2009, 06:15:27 AM
I'v been sifting through the content in this forum but i can't seem to find my answer. Who does one go about removing the crew from the bridge to make screen shots? I have the relieve crew mod but then they always turn the chairs. I would like to take pic of the bridges with all chairs empty and facing forward. Would it also be possible to jest make them inviable or is there a way to disable them temporarily? I have KM and most all the bridges. Any help?

I think the shots of empty bridges are taken with MPE.

It works, but i can't load the textures. Is there a way to see the bridge in game with out the crew?

there should be reg file in ModelProperty Editor folder, click on it and allow it to register MPE in windows, it works allways for me ;)

It works, but i can't load the textures.
be sure the bridge nif itself is in the same folder as all the textures...
if it is not, then simply copy it into the folder w/textures...

Ok, it work, crack one up to you guys. I'd give you all a cookie, but din't know how. Now my next question is how to keep the screen striate. I go in the bridge to look around and next thing i know it's upside down.

It just occured to me that you can also use Nifskope instead of MPE. It's a lot easier to control.

It would be nice to have more control, but the link page wont let me down load. ERROR 500. I'm registered with the site. Guess it does not exist any more.

i dunno about nifskope...  i find alot of the time textures dont load properly (or at all) even if the nif is in the same folder as the textures...
could be just me, tho...

dunno what to say, then...  it is unfortunate that nifskope doesnt seem to work properly for me when it comes to loading bridges :(
i wish i could troubleshoot why; it is much easier to navigate than MPE...

Is the nif in the same folder as the textures? That should do the trick.

perhaps it isnt just me having that weird issue?
dunno what to say...

in render settings i hit textures auto detect pathways and it loaded all the textures except for a hand full of lcar panels. Outher wise good call to all of you. Now if someone would kindly tell me how to give you cookies, you'll get a bunch.

You're not the only one Jimmy. I've found, in particular, the Nebula bridge loads only a few textures.

Also, NifSkope doesn't like having more than one open. Cos if I'm say looking at the Defiant, the textures (should) load but if I want to look at the Sovereign at the same time, the Sovie textures won't load.

Nebula bridge works fine for me.

And cookies: Once you pass 50 posts, you can give cookies.

Thanks for the heads up. I was looking at 25 century bridge and was missing textures. I clicked on the captain's chair and i seen the wire mesh. Will this program let you move the chair? Or perhaps take a chair from bridge to another? Jest a thought.

It will allow you to move for example the chair but if more than one object uses the same texture (so perhaps the same LCARS texture on 3 panels), then all of that object has to move.

As far as I know, you cannot import more objects.

the reason it doesn't display the panels is that those are loaded through the bridge plugin, you might be able to load those manually though.

ive tried several bridges on my end with nifskope, and none of them show textures...  ah well, i guess we're stuck with pain-in-the-ass-navigating-around MPE lol

Jimmy, do you have the latest version? They have done quite a bit of updating in the past year.

Is everything glowing stupidly? Try going to Render-->Settings-->Colours and change them all to black. As for the LCARS panels, as ACES said, they probably don't load cos theyre set up through Bridge Plugin to allow the texture swapping when the ship changes alert level.

I have vauge recollections of modifying http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/file/engineering01;15073 (http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/file/engineering01;15073) so that I could send all of the bridge officers away... Only major problems were the inability to bring them back, and the inability to disable the extras that walk on to some of the bridges.

If it was possible to say, make them all walk onto the turbo lift and 'hide' ... that might be fairly useful.

Problem with releveable crewmen mod is that all the chairs are all turned so it nows not look good as a pic. Jest a thought, is there a way to view .bsp file maps from EF in NifSkope?

Cool, i figured out how to add a Defiant chair to an Excalibur bridge, but it's in the middle of the room. who do you place it where you want?

Ahhh, i jest found out who to move the mesh. But i still would love to know who to to open a EF1 bsp in this.

You can't. Nifskope is specifically designed to open only nif's and can import .obj and .3ds files.

Also, the Edit/Modify Post and Delete Post button is your friend.

The wall behind the chairs are cool.

In the Excalibur bridge, i selected the captain's chair, but the commanders chair also selects to, i with to remove the commanders chair, any thoughts?

bankruptstudios, instead of making multiple posts in a row every few minutes, please instead use the "Modify" button to edit your most previous post and add more into that one...
