				Hi all, in this topic I?ll be placing info on a comic/video show that I?m creating. Also I?ll be asking and answering question, posting updates, looking for help and gathering ideas from you, the people who keep Star Trek alive.
 
 Taking place in the prime universe 4 days before the Hobes star explosion, Star Trek: RRTF will follow the crews of the RRTF STRIKE, RRTF ANTIDA and the battle station CERBERUS. With conflict between the Klingon Empire and the Federation rising and the out cries of many ship that have fallen to a mysterious new Foe, Star Fleet revises the Slipstream technology brought back with Voyager and creates a new branch called RRFT. Equipped with the new QSD (Quantum Slip Drive) powered by a micro singularity, the new branch is charged with the protection of all the Federation and its allies.
 
 The show will be made with BC as the main work horse. For ship battles and bridge scenes to the awesome backdrops the will be needed for windows and view screens. Legacy will also help with maps and ship battles. Only problem is most ships used in the show are not in Legacy. EF 1 and 2 for their ground maps, there RPG ships set and Hazard team battle suits. Spore for aliens and creatures plus very nice ground sets. Sims 2 is also a main work for the show from uniform to set and 90% of the characters of the show. I also have Sims 3 that i jest bought put for the time being it's not ready for use in this project.
 
 I currently have 3 scrip?s written and in the process of updating. The idea of following 3 crews will be hard but if pulled off it will keep people interested. I always found it a bit boring on DS9 until they started the war. With 3 story lines in play we will get a better look at what is happening in the universe. The characters will be in comic book form with voice added to them. The space scenes will be proudly be BC videos scenes with a touch of Legacy.
 
 I will also be asking permission from modders here to use their ships or bridge. If anyone who likes a challenge would like to make a bridge or do any re texturing i have loads of idea and wish to here yours. All the work done for this show is for free. If any of you wish to help you will get full credit in the closing credits. This show will also be free to watch, this is a no-profit project.

				Rapid Response Tactical Fleet is a working title for now. Typically a show is named after the main ship but there is 2 main ones in this show. RRTF also is a thought but doesn't have the ring i need. Any ideas?

				No, she didn't. But they did bring home the prototype they made and the data. Now with all of Star Fleets R&D scientist and engineers working on it since they came home, it's not to far of a stretch to think they got it working over the past 10 years. I'll be sticking true to past shows, but there is no harm i adding to the story. AS long as none of the crew start turning into lizards. :lol:

 Me and my wife Talk with the rest of our cast and we all think that Billz my friend, Star Trek: Front Lines will be the name of the show. Thank you, and once i get 50 posts and is able to give cookies you on the top of the list.
 
 Now for the next question?
 In the show there in a new race thats needs 4 ships. A fighter [size of a shuttle],a cruiser, a destroyer and capital ship that the ruling class would be on. Over 50% of villein ships in the star trek universe are simple re-textured ships of another race. For the capital ship  i was really thinking of the Juva-class Betelgeusian

 The ship reminds me of the Kessok, the ships i originally wanted to use.  I can re- texture the ship, but i would like to hear form you what you think the ships should be. Post a link to the ship and once we find ships that fit the bill i'll ask the owner permission to use them.

				Not at all my friend. We were looking to shorting the name and hit a wall. RRTF was jest a working title till we found a more susceptible name. When i read your post i knew right then and there that was it. This is the whole idea of posting in this forum, to get ideas from the people that matter, our potential audience. 				Hello Hobbs here... um i just found this post and thought id add my two pennies worth.
 quite some time ago i came up with an idea and thought maybe you could see if you wanted to use any of it.
 
 date: 2380
 LOCATION: DS3
 Storyline:
 
 in 2380 the Uss Griffin, Griffin Class explorer ship is sent to DS3. Her mission to Explore beyond DS3. (see map attached)
 During the mission the Uss Griffin encounters a seemingly piratical (as in pirates) race called the Cryslarn. after a fierce battle the griffin is left adrift with casualties and her warp drive inoperable due to the theft of her dilithium crystals.
 after repairs the uss griffin limps under impulse towards a populated system. They discover the Cryslarn are a peaceful race though with problems with some of their race choosing a pirate existence.
 The Cryslarn  have developed crystal-synthesis to the point where crystals are used to create power via opposing vibrational frequencies. this power is then used to power starships. the energy created is fed into different types (colour and construct) of crystal. some for example provide equivalent impulse and thruster propulsion. Others provide creation of natural warp propulsion. some crystals are able to be used as a means of sensor gathering and then you have the weapons crystals. Starfleet would describe the Cryslarn weapons as similar to the ones used by the Crystalline entity discovered by the enterprise D.
 The Cryslarn provide the Griffin with replacement dilithium crystals. The area around the Cryslarn system is filled with crystal rich planetoids and these are used by the Cryslarn to form the raw structure to their crystals.
 
 sub-plots:
 1) pirates: the Crylarn pirates edge towards federation space.
 2) crystalline entity home system: the crystalline deposits are actually the remains of long dead crystalline entities. the Cryslarn system is the home system for that space born creature. And in some areas of Cryslarn territory the creatures are hunted, due in part to their dangerous nature and in part because of the cryslarn still carrying out "blood sports"

				Thank you Hobbs, that is a realy good idea for a one off or back story. I'm not really sold on the weapond/sensor crystle idea, it  seems too close to Star Gate, but the idea of a new, more powerful energy sorce to power the QSD is something i'v been playing around with. I would like to use this if i can. 
 
 What i need is you to to name the crystle, post a link of a ship from BC files that you would like to see as the Griffen, give a breif name and discruption of the command crew and what you think the Cryslarns look like.
 
 With this info i can do a story outline and sent it to you for approvel. From there it will be written and sent to you for any editing you may want and once we have agreed on the story it'll be marked a done with your name as co writer and waiting for production.
 
 To everybody. This is a great example of why i started this topic. I love hearing story ideas and thoughts on how the show can unfold. Any mods, ships, bridges that you think the show can use from BC files or beyond are welcomed with a link to there site.

				Crylarn
 
 The Cryslarn are a race of humanoids whom seem to share alot with humans, the difference is the Cryslarn have a type of exo-skeletal structure which resembles the crystal deposits prevulent on there home world and the surrounding systems. This exo-skeleton is most noticable on the upper arms and shoulders and across back of the hands.
 
 The Cryslarn have hair much the same as humans though of shadings that are closer to blues and white or a mixture.
 
 
 Cryslarn Crystals
 
 The Cryslarn have developed a crystal structure called:
 
 Lanyd-ta-cryslin
 
 federation science officers have renamed this crystal as:
 
 Cryslin-thium ore
 
 this is the unrefind crystal that is a basis for all Cryslarn crystal technology, but the science and engineering crew of DS3 and the Uss Griffin have found that the Cryslin-thium ore is capable of producing higher power than standard warp drive systems (matter/antimatter), this ore is being tested as a means to power the QSD tecnology.
 
 The Uss Griffin
 
 The Uss Griffin has a comand crew that is unusual in that it is made up of a large number of those engineers and scientists that designed and built the ship they serve on.
 The captain was once an engineer who realised his skills were lacking in that area so he transfered to command, still with his love of engineering intact he propossed a design for a small starship capable of exploring unknown space and surviving the unknown too. Unfortunatly starfleet saw combat potential in the vessle and decided to make it mor of an escort ship. The Uss Griffin however retains its primary exploration systems, coupled with the upgraded weapons systems required for escort duties.
 
 The Crew
 
 Captain: Human Male, Quiet and with a patient nature. Able diffuse many situations simply with his tone and mannerisms. Hailing from the southern part of England on earth he has a disticntive accent. His humour is.... dry to say the least and untill he is known many mistake his wit and sarcasm for irritability and annoyance.
 
 First Officer: Human Male, Also from earth though from the scandinavian area, this man was a tactical officer turned engineer turned commander. He is able and well liked by those he serves with, his engineering skills are substantial and he aided in the design of the Griffin.
 Though more comfortable with a phaser or tool kit he is a very good commander able to inspire those he serves with, often praising his crew. A fan of ale he settles for synth-ale and often joins his friend for an ale or two while the latter pours over his latest science scans.
 
 Second Officer: Vulcan (or Human) Male, Operations officer and very good at his job. Able to anayze what he sees on his screens in an instant. He is dispationate like a vulcan and is mainly interested in his duties as Operations Officer. Given this he is hard to get to know and is very distant from the rest of the crew though he tries to "mingle" as much as possible, unfortunately that is not much due to his almost constant working.
 
 Helm Officer: Male Human, young and fresh from the academy, this young man is thrilled to pilot the Uss Griffin, he also takes good humoured delight in the fact he knows his captain would love to pilot the ship himself. Given the duel and cross purposes of the ship he is contantly finding better ways of manoeuvring his ship for both combat and science.
 Cheerful and happy he gets on well with the Chief Engineer though the latter is often cursing him for his harsh combat manoeuvres.
 
 Cheif Engineer: Human Male, after helping build the ship he now serves on this human from the luna colony has found his ideal posting. His expertise with the vessel is second to none and he is forever rethinking his designs and implementing upgrades. Jovial and good humoured he is well liked and can engage anyone in conversation (even the distant second officer)
 
 Science Officer: Human Male, spending his time away from the bridge and in the Science departments, this officer is enjoying the exploration duties provided to him. Though often distracted by the new discoveries afforded him aboard the Griffin he is also more than happy pouring over his most recent scans with a synth-ale in hand.

				I can see that you but a lot of your self into your work, witch means to me that this story will be a great one. If i could make a sujestion, please make 2 of the six cast members female, i have current 14 voice actors and 6 of then are female. I like the idea of the ship you made, but i'm filming in high res so it would not look right. The Insignia class is a great ship also. We could stear twords that one and update the texturse, but we would first have to get promission from it's owner.
 Look at this one, the Sole Wolf class, you might wish to use her instead.

 I would jest like to say again to everyone that you will get full credit for any help or ideas with this project.
 
 To any modders who would like ideas for new ship or would like to be part of this your creations will always be under your control. AS producer and director i may come to you with ideas on changes, but at the end of the day, IT'S YOUR SHIP. You can even ask DJ CURTIS. I got permission to use his ships in my show and i did a small re textures job on the Leonidas class to fit better with the story lines. After i sent him all the texture files for his approval. You work so hard to do what you love and for that you will have full say.
 
 To any who likes to re-texture or write script for ship, the same applies to you. After permission is granted from the ship or station builder and you would like to help, you will also be credited with your work as well. A lot of cool looking ship in BC Files have out dated textures, i would love to use them, but on the production side of the show i'm by my self. Help is defently needed.
 
 As for scripts, Slip Stream, armor and improved hull needs to be added. It's a little ahead on my list of things to do, but if any one would like to help it would be a blessing.
 
 Simply put, we're hear doing these thing because we love doing them and if we get together this will be an awesome show.

				Bills- Hi buddy, i do infact have permission from DJ CURTIS to use his ships, and as he relises more i'll be asking for them to. Im my previse post i actulay said this and if any modders wanted to do something with the show in mind that you could ask DJ to put your mind at ease that if i would like to change something to suits the story lines that i first talk it over with the owner. Also i've stated many time that the owner of the Bridge, ship or station that i wish to use in the show will be contacted for permission and that they are in full controll of there work out of full respect of thire contribution to keeping fresh content alive for Bridge Commander. So there are no worries there my friend :lol:

 Hobbs: The soul wolf is a BC ship so you do know, but i also like the DJ's LIBERTAS class and will use it if thats the class you want. I do like the Cryslarn ideas my friend and i think there is nothing rubbish of the sourt. As i said earler, i need a way to explain how the QSD is powered and a chain reaction with your cryslarm that has a higher output then standered Dilithium is what i need. Jest a thought, how about Crylithium? Using the base name of your race and merging it with Lithium to form a different word to not confuse with the Cryslarm Race. Also did you get a chance to look over what i said about changing 2 of the crew members to females?

 the cryslarn use two crystals with opposite frequencies which produces and energy source which can then be fed to the ships systems.

				I know we cant use it but i thought i'd let you know that my uss Griffin is a ship with removable saucer sections for different load outs one my friends on sbp07 came up with was slipstream. check it out below. obviously it should be re modelled lol but i cant do that.

 I've looked at the layout i have thus far for the first season and i think this story can be placed in the 4th or 5th episode as a back story and then to periodically have them recurring. However i'll have the crews of STRIKE and ANTIDA them from time to time in the first 3 episodes. I'll do my best, and if i can't, with your permission, maybe we can get some help from the BC community. Let me know what you think.
 
 Dalek: If you think back to TOS and NEXT GEN there not that extravagant. There was that female ensign on ENT-D that had a super spiky hair cut and also Troi with all her wild hair. With the apps i'm using to pull this off i have to pick and choose the best hair to assign to the main cast and place the undesirable ones with supporting or guest cast members. I do follow some rules with reguards to star fleet personal, but sometime in order to make the person look as real and beliveable as possible i must bend them. As producer i can have a little artistic licence here and there :lol:.

 Here's my griffin class, i have provided you with 2 complete and seperate ships

 the last one is a retracted version which would work well with slipstream, and it has textures that would be how i imagined the slipstream segments on the ship... would be nice to model them though lol
 the phasers on the segments with slipstream coils should be removed and the torpedo launchers should be moved back one segment.

				I'm looking at her now in Nif and was very surprised. The pic you posted don't do your ship justice. A side from a few modeling errors that i see, i think this is an awsome little ship!!! :lol: Wow!! 
 
 Ok, do you have the original 3d model? Me, my self is not a model maker, thoue i want to leard some day. I do have 3ds max and if you have the original model, i might jest be able to fix some of the model errors so when i do the new textures you will not see them. And if i can't fix it, we could ask for help from some one in the community for some assistance.
 
 If you don't still have the original, then i'll giver her a fresh paint job and see what you think from there.

				fresh paint job sounds awsom... one request and its not an order lol but could it be more like the original starfleet ships colour scheme as in bluey-white. i really dont like the "new" grey warlike scheme. the ncc1701A from undiscovered country and the ncc1701D is what i mean.

				I thought i'd share with you my theory on slipstream this is from some time ago 6months or somthing like it lol( i believe its out of date lol):
 Also there are other forms of travel i have theorised.
 SLIPSTREAM
 
 A THEORY ON THE NEWEST FORM OF TRAVEL
 
 
 THE SLIPSTREAM PHENOMENA IS MUCH LIKE FORCING AN OBJECT [SHIP] THROUGH A RESTRICTIVE MEMBRANE [QUANTUM SLIPSTREAM SPACE].
 THE OBJECT FORCES OPEN AN APERTURE AND THEN USING CONVENTIONAL PROPULSION TRAVELS THROUGH THE APERTURE AND INTO THE TUNNEL BEYOND. THE PHYSICS OF THE QUANTUM SLIPSTREAM MEAN THAT A SHIP TRAVELLING AT IMPULSE SPEED REACHES CLOSE TO WARP 10 SPEEDS, A SHIP AT 1/2 IMPULSE WOULD BE TRAVELLING FAR SLOWER THOUGH STILL FASTER THAN CONVENTIONAL WARP SPEEDS.
 
 THE PROBLEMS EXISTS THAT THE QUANTUM SLIPSTREAM TUNNEL IS A FORCED PHENOMENA AND SO TREMENDOUS STRESS IS PLACED ON THE SLIPSTREAM DEVICE AS THE TUNNEL TRIES TO COLLAPSE. A WAY OF STABILISING THIS IS TO CREATE A VESSEL WITH SLIPSTREAM FIELD COILS ALONG THE LENGTH OF THE SHIP WHICH WOULD BOLSTER THE EFFECT OF THE SLIPSTREAM DEVICE AND IN FACT ALLOW LESS POWER TO BE NEEDED FOR THE DEVICE ITSELF AS RATHER THAN OPENING A LARGE APERTURE A SHIP WITH FIELD COILS WOULD BE ABLE TO HAVE THE TUNNEL CONFORM TO THE SHIPS SHAPE.
 
 NOTE: IS IT POSSIBLE TO USE THE EFFECT OF THE COLLAPSING TUNNEL TO 'PUSH' THE SHIP AND SO PROVIDE GREATER SPEED.
 
 INTER-DIMENSIONAL GATE PROPULSION
 
 THIS FORM OF TRAVEL IS UNLIKE ANY OTHER TO FEDERATION SCIENCE, IT UTILISES THE DATA GATHERED BY VOYAGER AT THE TIME OF ITS RETURN TO FEDERATION SPACE.
 DATA GATHERED FROM THE TRANSWARP HUB BEFORE ITS DESTRUCTION HAS MADE THIS TECHNOLOGY POSSIBLE. THE SHIP CREATES A GATEWAY SIMILAR TO THE GATES OF THE HUB SYSTEM. WHEN FORMED THE ?GATE? ALLOWS THE SHIP TO SLIP INTO AN ?INTER-DIMENSIONAL LAYER? OF OUR UNIVERSE WHICH HAS VERY DIFFERENT LAWS OF PHYSICS, IT WAS FOUND THAT TRAVELLING 1 LIGHT-YEAR IN THIS LAYER WAS EQUAL TO 10 L-Y IN NORMAL SPACE.
 THE SHIPS SENSORS ARE LINKED TO TRANSPONDERS LOCATED ON VARIOUS STARFLEET INSTALLATIONS WHICH ALLOWS THE SHIP TO BE PILOTED TO SPECIFIC AREAS OF NORMAL SPACE WHILST IN THE INTER-DIMENSIONAL LAYER.
 
 TRAVEL WITHOUT THIS TRANSPONDER IS POSSIBLE BUT COMPLEX, FOR THERE ARE NO REFERENCE POINTS WITHIN THE LAYER THAT ALLOW FOR NAVIGATION BUT BY TRIANGULATING TRANSPONDER SIGNALS OR THE USE PRE-DETERMINED FLIGHT PLANS (IE: LONG RANGE SCANS) THEN A POINT OF RE-ENTRY CAN BE USED.
 
 Sovereign up grade: Trans-warp                     by   N.J Hobbs
 
 The Sovereign is one of Starfleet?s strongest vessels.
 Designed to replace the Excelsior, Ambassador, and New Orleans class Starships as the federations deep-space combat/defensive vessels, but to also provide availability for scientific research and exploration. This combination provides deep-space exploration/first contact missions with a well defended vessel, and as new areas and races are discovered this will prove to be a huge asset.
 
 With the Borg threat a reality Starfleet began work on new combat vessels such as the Defiant, the sovereign was also one of these. Started in 2365 the sovereign project pushed federation technology to its limits and beyond allowing for far more efficient defensive/offensive capabilities and also far greater computing power.
 
 Some difficulties were found the most significant was the warp drive system, due in part to the high energy dependent technologies like the shields and deflector systems this class of ship was struggling to keep up with other vessels in terms of raw speed. Advancements in warp core design remedied some of these problems but the sovereign class is still less than a leader in the propulsion area.
 
 During the time the sovereign was under development the Uss Enterprise D discovered Captain Montgomery Scott in transporter suspension, with his eventual return to Starfleet and his reenlistment he came to have some influence on the project.
 With the completion of the class many in Starfleet felt they had created a true flag ship for the fleet, but with subsequent missions being issued to the new vessels it was found to be lacking in some areas still. These were primarily the number of phaser arrays and again the speed of the ship.
 The weapon systems were upgraded and the famous engineer looked into the propulsion problems.
 
 Captain Scott?s research provided Starfleet with theories on how to bring the class up to standards set during its original development.
 With a redesign of the nacelles and warp drive that incorporates a new system developed by ?Scotty? this system uses the original failed trans-warp drive developed for the Excelsior as a basis but incorporates the theory of ?multiple subspace layers? this theory basically allows for many subspace layers and ?warp? is just one of these. Voyager encountered another called ?Under-space? and so with many years of research by Captain Scott allowed for a new layer of subspace to be traversed, he dubbed this ?Trans-warp? in honour of the Nx Excelsior.
 
 Technical problems still exist such as the need to attain maximum warp speed before a resonance oscillation of the shield frequency allows for the ship to slip into the next layer of subspace. This ?slippage? is highly violent and all systems such as structural integrity, shields and warp drive must be operating at 100%, Captain Scott has found that it is still possible to cross the subspace threshold at less than this efficiency but it causes serious damage to the vessel which raise exponentially as the percentage drops. At 75% the vessel is likely to be too badly damaged to sustain its integrity.
 Adversely coming out of the subspace layers is relatively less harmful.
 
 At present the new upgraded sovereign is able to slip into the next layer of subspace at warp 9.7 though a faster speed has proven to be more effective and safer.
 The vessel once in the next layer of subspace travels at speeds that never attain the warp 10 threshold instead the speed is in effect warp 9 to warp 10.
 Captain Scott has developed a new scale for this new ?trans-warp? system

 Even though new vessels in the fleet can reach the 9.97+ mark they over stress their engines and can sustain such speeds for only short periods of time. Additionally the amount of power needed is high and immensely inefficient. Whilst within the ?trans-warp layer? however the power needed drops back to the relatively low power usage a vessels needs to sustain a standard warp 1 (without use of the ?subspace highways?).
 
 From this scale the sovereign is able to sustain a trans-warp 7 cruising velocity which equates to warp 9.999 whilst using the same amount of power as it would at warp 7 in standard warp flight.

 The QSD system that i imagined goes something like this.
 
 After Voyages returned with her new tech, star fleet poured it's best and brightest in to trying to develop the Slipstream, the armor, the weapons and the catapult they used a wile back.
 
 The new armor system proved to be harder to fit to starship then original thought, it's still pending development. Wile easier, most new ship are outfitted with the new Phaser ans torpedo systems wile older models could now handle the power requirement.
 
 Research focused on the Catapult. After years of development, Gate Ways as they were dubbed were stationed at many starbases and high trafficked planets as a means of alternative  travel. Due to warp it limitation, max crusing speed of all ship with in the federation  is warp 5 to stop the harm to space unless emergency condituons are applied, the gates were out fitted with thrusters for stubilty and for navagation controll. A ship can send it's flight plan to the controll room, from there the gate way crew would turn the gate and activate it for travel in a streght line. For ships to use this technology, a computer program was in stalled on any ship wishing to use this system. Auto pilot adjusted the shields and flights systems to compensate for in tunnel turbulence and also has an auto shutdown in case of two things. One being a failure to compensate for the tunnels behavior, and secondly a ship would automatically eject it's self from the tunnel upon approach to and planetary system. The result of both would simple restore the ship to normal space where the ship would curry on under normal warp. In theory, the ship is in a quantum state, thus would possibility allow the ship to pass thought and spacial body's. But the theory is still not proven and the effect on any spacial body is not known thus a ship in the stream must eject before entering any solar system, inhabited or not.
 
 With rapid boarded disputes and the rise in tenchens with Klingon, 8472, borg and the remainders of the Jem'hadar, plus attacks from and unknown aggressor, star fleet was able to complet successful quantum slip drive systems using crystals found by the crew of the USS GRIFFIN. This system, redesigned from VOYAGER by Jayals Sh'Dani, a Andorian scientist were built for the star fleet test program that were tasked with inter grading the QSD into 6 new prototype class. All were successful with the exception of one. Charged with front line defense and rescue, the RRTF was born. But with any new technology it has its limits. Wile operating normally the ship is under warp power, but when emergency protocols are activated, the QSD can be brought online with in minuets to slip to any location. The crystals powering the QSD take a long time to refine under hardest condition and once done the crystals  only has a limited shelf life. With a year to refine the crystals and only a month worth of slip jumps star fleet was quick to inplaiment the new QSD protocol. This mode of travel it not with out hazards thou, as documented by VOYAGER, a person exposed to this, depending on there race, may or will start to regress to an earlier state of evolution. SH'Dani implemented a new BIO shielding protocol into the ships QSD to automatically engage upon entering the Stream to stop any undesired mutation. The before menchened auto pilot system for the Gate Ways are also merged into this system to stop a ship from clouding with any steller body's. Before engaging the system, a massive sensor pulse is emitted and when avalible, a uplink with fredration navigational network will be used to plot a searis of Slip jump to avoid potential hazards will travling in a striate line.
 
 This is the working theory for the QSD in the show, questions and any additional information is welcomed.

				hi, in regards to scotty retireing after the ent-d found him apparentyly in the startrek novels he went back to starfleet and helped with the sovie.(they created a special course for those starfleet officers who were from the past such as the crew of the bozeman)

 um one note: the warp speed restrictions due to damage to subspace was lifted after warp engines were redesigned thats why the intrepid class ships had the moving nacells, after the intrepid was finished i think a new redesign allowed for ships (all) to travel beyond warp 5.
 
 and if you are using the regretion theory because thats what happened to paris and janeway in the episode with paris reachin warp 10 then you've got it backwards lol they didn't regres they evolved (but the bio shielding theory holds)

 I'm looking for Slip Stream calculations. Like how long would it take to travel from earth to Taurus dark cloud nebula at 437.5 light years away. At warp 9.95 to would take 16.9 days. At a cursing speed of warp 7 it would do it in 243 days. I know that there is a formula, but can't seem to find it. From what i understand there is no different slip settings like warp has, like warp 1-9.975. Once entered it stays constant. Any ideas?

 sorry i think it was "non-cannon" about the lifting of the speed restriction, i think it was a notation in the startrek encyclopaedia.
 
 it says on startrek wiki memory alpha : Warp speeds above warp 5 were routinely used after 2370, without mention of the harmful effects, suggesting a solution was found, even though it was not mentioned on-screen. See: Variable-geometry pylon for the only non-canon mention.

 If you look at the first set of pics you'll see the original Griffin model you sent me. When i first seen the ship i loved the idea of it, but as i run my PC graphics all on high, mesh errors popped out like a sore thumb. Notice that the bridge and where it meet the saucer, most of the lines don't run smooth. Same as the rear of the saucer where it meets the hull and to where it runs to the phaser strip. Bumpy line seems to fill the rest of the engineering hull. No errors were found on the nacelle thou.

 hi there. nice to know we think the same design wise... i dont know bout you but when i designed the griffin i took the shape of the galaxy class saucer (top view) and rotated it 90 degrees then cut out the section where the nacelles go.

				I thought you might like some things moved. I'm working the bridge right now. I'm still a little hung over from my surprise birthday party last night. The hull and the bridge elements don't line up as the orignal was not designed to so im in the process of thinning the tail of the bridge to fit. If there is any thing elce you want done let me know soon. I'll post some pics tomorrow to show the new bridge. Also, If the phasers and torpedoes are moved, it's likly that a new hard point system will have to be used. Do you do scripting?

 phaser cannons....hmm does the ship you have i sent have pulse phaser cannons? if not never mind lol if it does then could you model them into the model... just make 4 cylinders and put them on the model at the place indicated on my drawing
 
 I double checked my calculations apparently in the voyager episode it was the dauntless that travelled 15 ly in a few mins (no actually voiced time)
 But voyagers slipstream lasted 1hour and they travelled 300ly's
 so my new calculations would be:
 
 300ly in 1 hour
 300 / 60 = 5ly per min
 so 15ly / 5 = 3mins travel at slipstream
 
 = 5ly X 60mins = 300ly = 300ly per Hour
 
 sorry bout that. the new calculations are as cannon as possible, i took the numbers from voyager scripts for the show.
 
 so 437.5ly / 5ly = 87.5mins / 60 = 1.4583333 hours
 
 (= 1h 27m 30s [87.5-60= 27.5 (= 1h27m30s) ])

I've been using your drawling to see what you originally wanted and has been at this point re building the shop. With the exception of the nacells, the rest i had to re do. Don't get me wrong, this is fun and i'm learning alot from this. Jest explain what else you want and try to post an updated pic so i can see and it'll be done. Also the ship is in .max format and once the model is finished i'll send it to you to try out before we do the textures. DO you know how to convert it to .NIF to use in game?

 the Griffin Class is a reconfigurable ship with removable saucer sections. these sections can be changed at starbase for different missions.
 the ship built so far are specific to those missions and are already configured.
 the ships are:
 USS GRIFFIN, escort/explorer (pulse phasers)
 USS GRYPHON, explorer/science (enhanced sensors)
 USS DRAGON, war/escort (heavy phaser cannon, pulse phasers)
 USS UNICORN, medical/rescue (enhanced shields and extra medical bays)
 USS PEGASUS-A/USS HIPPOGRIFF, slipstream retaliation escort (slipstream field coils and pulse cannons)
