hi right here is my Enterprise C oberth class, this ship is built for speed, ie thats why the engs seem over size, but let me know what you think
-
Well I guess it could be fast enough with slightly less oversized nacelles, impulse engines are too blocky, maybe something more trapezoidal shape would look better don't you think ? Hull could be more excelsior style but shorter other than that it looks cool
-
Get rid of that secondary hull and the pylons connecting to it, you would have a great looking ship as it is. Maybe an Ent-C era Defiant type of ship.
As bones said, just make those impulse engines less blocky.
Looks great.

Looks good mate, I agree with the suggestions the guys have made, but since you have already mapped and textured it it may be a little late in the day to make such big changes, mabey a thought for v2. good job.
-
you should consider some glowy bits for the lower pod for deflector systems. The oversized nacelles arent really a problem. Certainly some science issues nessecitate speed anyways.
-
I like the secondary hull and the pylons. After all it is a distinct feature of an Oberth style ship and the ones on this ship I believe represent an advance in the design of an Oberth Class.
-
Looks like with a bit of texture and mapping jiggery pokery you could convert that secondary into a third warp nacelle ;)
The impulse drive does look waaay to big though. The nacelles are fine, but the impulse is just way to damn big. Shrink them in all dimensions!
but shorten them first. You may be able to get away with just shortening them and a retexture.

Wow, nice texturing job!
The model could use a few aesthetic changes, but as markyd pointed out, since you've already mapped and textured her, it's a bit late to be asking for feedback on the design (unless you're planning to make a new version, of course).
Personally, I like the nacelle pylons and sensor pod a lot. They look very elegant, and fit perfectly with the style of the era. The saucer is very nice, as well. Something doesn't sit right with me about the nacelles or the rear section of the main hull, though. I think it's the orientation of the nacelles, and the semi-random blocks on the rear of the main hull. I'd also do something with the rather empty top of the main hull. But other than that, I like this ship a lot!
Nice job.

That looks great. I think she'll also be a great variant if the bottom section is removed and a torpedo pod is attached instead, possibly as an ENT-C era escort?
-
ive got abetter design for an ENT-C era escort i post pic soon

That's a bit... Y'know... Out of the blue don't ya think?
I personally love this design, keep up the good work!
-
here the pictures of the ENT-C era escort
-
i forgot to said the escort will be use to make the ent-c era oberth look better when i re work it
-
right here r three ship one oberth and two different escorts one with a ring warp dive eng and one with naclles . i will be doing one with a rollbar soon and my screen shot are rubish so please dont judge them on the screen shots, as soon as i got some in game shot ill post them
let me know what you think
-
 Ooo. I'm looking forward to seeing some more Ambassador-era ships. I especially like your Oberth-type ship, I think it really suits the era. This certainly deserves a cookie!
-
HERE are some screen shots of one of the escorts, thanks to GMunoz
-
These are great; the escorts look like the forerunners of the Norway and Streamrunner class.
It is real too bad that during TNG they couldn't spend the time and money to make more models instead of having Excelsior and Miranda knockoffs each week, it?s nice to see an expanded fleet.
-
Your texturing is too cartoony. Study pictures of the Ambie's studio model for ideas. While the Ambassador herself has no aztecing whatsoever (you can blame that on the ST art team rly), her shieldgrid kinda makes up for that (something that looks like aztec is on the neck and nacelles tho).
Set the shieldgrid lines to 20% opacity, they will look better that way. Also, don't forget to add sensor strips, thrusters, tractor emmiters, teleporter pads, etc. They eill only add to making the ships look more real and believable. Also, add some interior overlays to the windows (search the screenshots of EFFiles (mostly EF2 mods) for that.
-
Good job mate,
I think its looking great, with a couple of speculars thrown in it would look even better ;)
-
here the new model with abit of aztecing
-
Better, but do not use overlay patterns as it is on the Ambassador model from your renders upstairs, look at my own models for cues, but mind you, most are TMP, but the basic idea is the same. Plus, you have the entire texture in psd format for my Oberth (http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/file/Ad_Oberth_Class_Pack;87196) (disregard the screens, they weren't made with a good rig), since I used a single texture for the hull, so you could learn a thing or two from it since you have the base of the whole thing. :D
-
love the ships :) the oberth is a cool ship and your ent-c era one is great. as for the escorts... awesome.
-
right just to let people know the escorts have been sent to bc file front and should be there soon to down load
-
you know there are 2 ships on bcfiles already that I hp'd, I think by thulls, one is the armored mini-nebula and the other is a saladin style. I'm not suggesting the armor unless you really want to but those 2 ships could use a redo and fit your stile perfectly.
