Post by: moed on September 02, 2009, 03:27:19 PM
What is in all your collective opinions the best star field for BC?

I'm looking to replace mine.

Can you also provide the download link(s)

Thanks in advance  :D

Which ever one is in KM. I've tried the others and have since gone back to that one.

I like the starfield in the "Comet" region i think, with the Cardasian Observitory, ill have to look it up to be sure, but its a really nice starfield, very realistic IMO, ill go into into my BC install later to get the proper name, but its realy nice

starfield from DarkGunman's improvement pack was cool back in 2005/06 there are also at least 3 starfields with 'high' in the name and of course my personal fav (after desaturating) is starfield from KM 1.0

One that stood the test of time for me is this (http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/file/Background_Stars;24886) one.

Here's how it looks like for me:

I made my own after tiring of the KM1.0 one. I just ran a noise filter in Photoshop, dropped the brightness, and cranked the contrast all the way up.

Pretty easy, make your own one. works most quickly searching for a night star map. that raise the contras a little bit, make a new layer, apply slight gaussian blur, and put that layer on lighten. that looks most fantastic!
