Title: BIG ANNOUNCMENT!!!!
Post by: Viper on March 15, 2010, 02:04:37 PM
Ok, I don't know why, and I don't know how [or how long it will last],

But I seem to have access to BCU.  It's all back door access, but it appears I can access just about everything.  So if anyone can think of a thread to get info from, let me know ASAP and I will try to grab it and bring it here.  Might only be able to get a bit of it though.  So be specific.  IF I can access the admin controls, I'm going to see about downloading the site.

Raven, if you see this, please get in touch with me.  viper.models@gmail.com

Neb is correct.  Its part of the archive. I'm going to contact the archive webmaster and see if the entire site is there.  Maybe download it and bring it back .

He's logged on here pretty much everyday that I am but, for whatever reason he has suddenly just stopped posting in the last few months.

What about mods? Some mods were released on BCU that never found their way to BCFiles.

It's where I got the Argo shuttle from. :D

I found the thread for the Argo, but sadly all files that were uploaded to the site [attachments] are gone.  So if the mod was actually uploaded to BCU for release, its gone.

If it helps, I did a bit of digging around, and I believe there is an internet archive site called wayback machine. I took a look into it when I was trying to recover some StarCraft maps, and I think it should work for BCU as well. I did manage to recover some SC maps, I think you may be able to recover some files there too.
