Hello everyone. For no reason today, other than my own enjoyment, I started working on changing the Music to Bridge Commander. I like the music that comes with the game but I felt like playing around with it anyways to see if I could give it a more "epic" feel. So as I was playing with it, I thought I would post my progress on here to get opinions and maybe see if anyone else likes what I did with it. If enough people like it, perhaps I can upload it to BC Files.
The first video here is just the main menu music.
This is the background music when you're just cruising around. The video ends where the song would loop.
And this video is combat music. It may be hard to hear because of the Phasers and explosions so I'll make another one with the SFX turned down so you can hear the transition of the music.
Please let me know what you think so far. Also, can anyone guess what movie the music comes from? I'll post the answer with the next video lol.

I like it! It gives a great feel for exploring the unknown, with an air of mystery. The battle music is intense, too, fast-paced and exactly what's needed! That's what I get from it anyways :P
As for where it's all from.. The 6th Day. :P

CJLarkin got it right on the first try lol. It is music from The 6th Day, which is composed by Trevor Rabin.
I'm definitely glad everyone likes it. Thanks for the cookies :D. I have that other video here now so you can hear the music without it being interrupted with Explosions lol. The volume does dip though where your crew talks to you. The music for The 6th Day is amazing, but the Soundtrack is so short, I'm running out of music pieces for the other songs. For example, I'm still missing a new theme for Starbase 12. I thought about using the same theme as the standard background music from the second vid, but I was hoping for something more unique. I'll continue listening through the soundtrack but if I can't find anything, I may tap into some other Trevor Rabin themes like Armageddon or Remember the Titans.
This could end up being one big tribute to Trevor Rabin instead of just being The 6th Day lol.

Where do you intend to host this, out of curiosity? Musical works are only allowed on BCFiles if they're not copyrighted iirc.

hmmm... that's a good looking question. As of right now I'm not really sure. I keep forgetting about how strict music laws are now. It seems like we've reached the point where you can't even say "good morning" without paying royalty fees to someone. As of right now I suppose I could just email the music to anyone whose interested, although I'm still working on it of course.
I have to replace all the panic music. And so far I haven't done any of the Campaign themes. Only the ones that play during quick battles.

And thanks, I'll check into those to see about hosting the music and I'll keep your email on file just in case. I've chosen the Starbase 12 theme. The song on The 6th Day OST is called The Hospital which I thought was fitting because the Starbase acts as a Hospital when it repairs you after battle haha. Here is a vid demonstrating it.

Quick update here. I've changed all the combat music such as Confident, Neutral and Panic. I've also added music for Starbase 12, the main menu, etc.
But does anyone care about the Campaign music? Personally I don't play the Campaign, due to the fact that it crashes when I try to play it. I would probably attribute that to all the mods haha. But all the music you would hear in Quick Battle has been done.
So my question is, Should I continue and change the music for Campaign or would everyone be satisfied with Quick Battle music changes?
