What is yours?
Mine would have to be a type 40 TARDIS.
-
Nautilus from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (it is a ship, and in the 1800s it was sifi!)
-
The 2005 type 40 TARDIS.
I love that thing.
-
Hmm, the ENT - D is second in my rating but the Top - Ship (Ship sounds so tiny compared to size) is the Deep Space Omni-/ Multi- Carrier SOL:
Overall 8 Kilometers in length (after the Refit), more than 2,5 Km wide, consisting of 3 fully independet Ships. It is the only true Generations Ship i know of. In Space for something like 10 Centuries.
-
Gotta be Destiny, or the Satellite o' Love.
-
I have to say the original Galactica
-
My favorite sci fi ship is the Prometheus
(http://www.thescifiworld.net/img/wallpapers/stargate/mirko_stoedter/mirko10_1024x768.jpg)
-
Ok this is waaay too hard so I'll throw my favourite five (lol unintentional BSG affiliation :P )
the order is pretty random so :
1. Constitution refit class (do I really have to say WHY ;) )
2. Battlestar Galactica (Reinvisioned BSG is just tough ugly ship... I love that design)
3. Millenium Falcon (that would be my personal ship)
4. SeaQuest DSV (I just love that boat)
5. Conestoga class (Alien's - USS Sulaco... I like Pulse Rifle ... this is like a big flying Pulse Rifle :D)
-
In the not-to-distant future!

I knew I wasn't the only MST3K fan here! :dance
-
I'll have to go with the Constitution class refit, been in love with that ship since ST TMP came out.
-
O.o Trim has posted..... dun dun dun......
hmm hard choice for me really...
A few of the B5 ships take top spots so does the Galaxy and Nebula classes of ST.
-
I'd say Super Star Destroyer. Both Excecutor and Eclipse class
-
Type 40 TARDIS.
-
my next choice would have to be the Discovery 1
-
I'd say Refit Connie, followed by the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy the Falcon.
-
Fav non trek ship would be the Millenium Falcon. Trek wise gotta go with the Refit Connie. :D
-
non-cannon = Corinium A or Griffin class :P
non-cannon (and not my own ships lol) = Uss Pioneer, Insignia Class :dance
cannon = Constitution Refit or Constellation Class
non-trek = All Babylon 5 ships or B5's AURORA CLASS STARFURY :yay:
-
trek: Constellation or Nebula-class.
nontrek: BC304 Asgard refit and ZPM-boosted for good measure.
non-canon: Coeur De Lion.
-
I like Apophis' mothership. That one is nice.
-
Guess, go on... DO EET!
-
Captain Protons?
-
Too right it's Captain Proton's rocketship!
It's possibly what the TOS people would have loved to have had (For an alien ship ofc)
-
Hmm, since different franchises follow different laws of physics () I'll post my favorite of each franchise...
Star Trek - DJ Curtis's Century class Enterprise F, only with a few changes (in my head when I imagine it shooting through a nebula, changes being slight coloration change and nacelles.)
Star Wars - The YT series; 1300 and 2000 most prominently...
http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff99/Velosipo/WIP_Ext_Otana1.jpg (http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff99/Velosipo/WIP_Ext_Otana1.jpg)

Other - Destiny (Stargate), Galactica (BSG-R) come to mind.

Gotta say, personally I prefer Dash Rendars ship over the entire YT line.
-
Gotta say, personally I prefer Dash Rendars ship over the entire YT line.
His ship is part of the YT line though. YT-2400. Personally you haven't lived Star Wars until you have played X-wing Alliance, which is where the YT-2000 comes from.
-
im gonna have to say the NX-01
-
I'd go with the Falcon of course, and then RTD's Type 40 TARDIS.
Trekwise: Galaxy, Sovvy, Intrepid, and Defiant...all sexy ships :D
-

I know, but the Falcon bugs me, and the 2000 just looks odd to me. Might just be my favouritism for Shadows of the Empire talking, but when I can't fly the Ebon Hawk, the 2400 is the choice. :P I loved X-wing vs TIE, but my dedication to my Interceptor stopped me from using any others!
-
Too many good guy ships. Nobody like the villian ships?
Hmmm - The Vor'cha class Klingon Attack Cruiser...The Venator Class Republic/Emperial Star Destroyer...K'T'Inga Class Battle Cruiser
Hero ships - Refit Connie, AGT Enterprise Dreadnaught, any Excelsior Class, Obert class (I know it's a science ship...but it just looks fast!), reimagined Battlestar Pegasus.
-
bad guy ships? there's only one answer..

:funny So true.
-
Actually, I lied about my favourite Sci-Fi ship of all time.
I think it's probably the Amarr Empire's "Avatar" class Titan. Along with most other Amarr ships...
-
funny, I was just thinking of creating an amarr character on EVE.. but I have to say that the Amarr Titan looks like a giant horse dong of doom.
-
I think it looks like a battering ram.
-
Compared to the other Titans, the Avatar is beautiful. In order of ship aesthetics, best to worst (Of the 4 main empires):
Amarr (GOURGEOUS)
Gallente (Nice)
Minmatar (Hm, not bad...)
Caldari (Ew...)
-
I think it looks like a battering ram.
looks like an older version of one of the main baddies in Homeworld
-

Amarr (GOURGEOUS)
Gallente (Nice)
Minmatar (Hm, not bad...)
Caldari (Ew...)
to me, non-symmetric ships are big no no. hence why I hate Gallente and most of Caldari.. and simply admire Minmatar McGyverisms for ships, although Amarr ships look nice symmetry wise, they look too much like they just ejected molten metal into space and carved the ship inside it, just like Gallente.. just a little bit less bling.
-
Caldari forever!
-
Caldari..? yes, Drake is nice. but missile-spamming is very tiresome because it takes so long to hit.
-
I find there's a certain beauty in asymmetrical ships. Which is why I love the Breen ships, they broke the symmetrical trend in virtually all the Trek ships to that date. Not to mention they're extremely deadly. :)
-
Only because of that drainer weapon. :dontcare: without that it was just cannonfodder like Mirandas.
-
Not in my install. ;)
-
For baddies I would have to go with the old fashioned Cylon Base Star
(http://media.battlestarwiki.org/images/thumb/0/06/BasestarTOS.jpg/200px-BasestarTOS.jpg)
-
I've been thinking of this a lot but one ship keeps coming to mind. I bet many of us have a model or picture of her somewhere and she looks great from every angle.
It's the original 1701.
-
Every mmo is like that.
-
My favorite ship has changed over time, but certain ships have stuck.
Jupiter 2 from the Lost In Space movie
Sovereign Class
Intrepid
Ebon Hawk
Prometheus
Premonition
Excalibur Class
Century Class
Coreillian Corvette
Just to name a few lol
-
I find I have difficulty narrowing down my favorite choice.
Top 5 in no specific order:
Legacy-Class
Defiant-Class
Intrepid-Class
Stargate's "Atlantis" City Ship.
Atlantis' Puddlejumpers.
I'm just not a fan of the Destiny as its fracking extraordinarily large, as I haven't seen any indication it was used to manufacture / drop spacegates or regular stargates as part of its original mission during the Ancients' expansion into the universe, pre-Wraith/pre-Replicators.
-
Here is my list of all time favorites; don't laugh at #5 please XD
1. Galaxy Class
2. Constitution ( TOS )
3. the Jupiter 2 from the original Lost In Space
4. Romulan D'deridex Warbird
5. Bill & Ted's Phone Booth
-
5. Bill & Ted's Phone Booth
TARDIS reigns supreme!
-
no way. Bill and ted cheated death, they know how to play guitar, and they're infinitely more cool than doctors ever can be. :dontcare:
-
no way. Bill and ted cheated death, they know how to play guitar, and they're infinitely more cool than doctors ever can be. :dontcare:
Agreed :D
fave ship of all time? well other than my previous post i have to now say.....
....JJverse oberth class by baz1701
-
My ones would be (On a Top 10 List, going to below 10 would be futile really):
1) Galaxy class (ST)
2) TOS/TMP Constitution (ST)
3) Excelsior (ST)
4) Aurora class battleship (Stargate)
5) Oberth (ST)
6) Daedalus class (Stargate)
6) Discovery (2001: A Space Odyssey)
7) Moya and Tallyn (Farscape)
8) Venator Class Star Destroyer (Star Wars Ep3. and (The) Clone Wars)
9) Leonov (2010: A Space Odyssey)
10) O'Neil class battleship (Stargate)
-
I liked most designs from Battlestar's Fleet both old and new. I was extremely fond of, what I still call her, Space Park.
-
This thread suddenly became popular! :D
-
no way. Bill and ted cheated death, they know how to play guitar, and they're infinitely more cool than doctors ever can be. :dontcare:
Hmmm...yeah, the doctor may not be able tp play a guitar, but he IS able to visit other planets at any time (LITERALLY)
-
SGU's Destiny.
-
SGU's Destiny.
BAM! There it is. Thank you. Cookied.
-
BAM! There it is. Thank you. Cookied.
Did I hear Emeril?? I WANT AN AUTOGRAPH DAMNIT!!! :P
just kidding
I still hold on to the Type 40 TARDIS...What other ship looks as though it can only hold one little tiny weeny person but has enough room to fit an entire civilization???
-
Doctor Who: Voyage of the damned - Titanic  http://bowjamesbow.ca/images/voyage-of-the-damned.jpg
-
no way. Bill and ted cheated death, they know how to play guitar, and they're infinitely more cool than doctors ever can be. :dontcare:
The doctor cheated death a bunch more times than Bill and Ted. And a central plot theme for the majority of the B&T adventures was their blatant inability to play guitar. Also, he has near-competent knowledge of how to control his time machine, and it's bigger on the inside :D
-
i don't know, i just work here...

I love Trek Designs!
For cannon ships I've gotta go with the Sovereign!
My favorite Trek ship has gotta be Legacy Class by Galen-Kaden!
It Rocks!!
-
I'll throw my top 5
1 Vorlon battle cruiser
2 Mimbari Sharlin
3 Asgard Oniel
4 Sovereign
5 New Galactica
-
Huuuur now I got think of my favouite designs...
1: Ambassador Class
2: Imperial Stardestroyer MK2
3: New Orleans class
4: Akula Class
5: The colony wars Dreadnought
-
For all-time hideousness, the Omega-class from Babylon 5, designed "to look like a South African steam train" Lolz. Looks even more beautiliscious like this:
http://efni.org/brightwarrior1.htm#OMEGAE
The Klingon Bird-of-prey also has a kind of ugly charm about it I've always digged.
For Fed ships, the Sovereign is the only thing I've swooned over...the Galaxy class was my first love tho.
All-time favorites: Andromeda Ascendant (http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20091014201647/andromeda/images/thumb/2/27/Andromeda_Ascendant.jpg/698px-Andromeda_Ascendant.jpg) and the Covenant assault carrier (http://www.halopedian.com/images/thumb/a/aa/Assault_Carrier_2.jpg/300px-Assault_Carrier_2.jpg)
-
Jupiter 2 from the Lost In Space movie
Yes! I'm not the only one to love that ship!
For me, gotta break it down.
Good guys:
Star Trek- Constitution. Period. That's classic TOS, TMP refit, and JJ-verse. Nothing can top a Connie.
Star Wars- Mon Calamari MC-80 cruiser.
Other- This is kind of a tie between the Autobot cruiser the Ark, and the Maximal science ship Axalon.
Bad guys:
Star Trek- Dominion bugship
Star Wars- The Executor. Nuff said.
Other- This category also belongs to the Transformers. Tie between the Decepticon warship Nemesis and the Predacon battlecruiser Darkside.
-
There is one more ship that I've always loved... the Spindrift from Land Of The Giants. Very cool looking ship.
-
There's actually two more that I'd forgotten about, that I wish were in BC sometimes.
The Gunstar from The Last Starfighter and the Ragnarok from Final Fantasy VIII.
-
Ragnarok? oh hell yes.
But, I can see that modeling it would be a big task, bit like Narada..
-
Not particularly, there's a model for it in Freelancer. And unlike the Narada, the Ragnarok is symmetrical.
-

But, I can see that modeling it would be a big task, bit like Narada..
You Awsome Person, i Have Final Fantasy VIII and i must say its an awsome ship that is meant to be in space, would make an interesting bc mod huh?
someones gotta attempt this to see how it goes.
-
Enterprise D
Refit Enterprise
Battlestar Pegasus (2004 version)
USS Defiant (from DS9)
Enteprise E
Akira Class
Nebula class
Klingon Bird of Prey
USS Excelsior
Romulan warbird
I tried to limit it to 5! Honest!
-
actually looking at the ragnarok it wouldnt be too hard, i mean it would be a challange, but since its a symmetrical ship, its not too hard, also a close second favourite ship of mine is FFX-2's celsius airship though it isnt an space faring ship, im sure theyre wizz-kid Shinra(any FF fan will get the name reference here) will find a way for it to fly in space :P
-
Hmm just 1? That would be Destiny from SGU.
favorite 5: Destiny, Galactica (reinvisioned), Deadalus (BC304), USS Voyager and Asgard O'neil
-

If you're taking that as a challenge CyAn1d3, best of luck. there's very little actual reference. :(

i have an buddy back in tampa with the figure, already sent the email for ref pics.
-
wait a minute...WHAT? since when does Final Fantasy count as Sci-Fi?
-
wait a minute...WHAT? since when does Final Fantasy count as Sci-Fi?
I'd say since Final Fantasy 6 introduced technology in the form of Magitek Armor. Sure it's basic tech compared to, say, a starship, but I think it qualifies. That and it seems like each Final Fantasy gets further into the sci-fi and less into actual fantasy.
i have an buddy back in tampa with the figure, already sent the email for ref pics.
Oh, that's just not right. I always wanted that figure.
-
1. Enterprise-E (Nemesis Refit)
2. Refit/Enterprise-A
3. Millennium Falcon
4. TOS Enterprise (Yeah it's old looking, but it's got a certain beauty about it.)
5. JJ Enterprise (Its new and powerful looking. And the curves give her a certain elegance)
-
1. Refit Ent-A
2. FF8 Ragnarok
3. Sovereign Class
4. Sulaco (from Aliens)
5. Jupiter 2 (the "new" one)
that is all :P
-
This thread is still going? My god, what have I created? :D
-
Trek: Prommie (Prometheus class), Excelsior class (just looks so modern even when over thirty years old)
Non-Canon: USS John Glenn (best kitbash), USS Sun Tzu (second best)
Non-Trek: OMEGA class destroyer (Babylon 5), Aurora Class warship (Stargate Atlantis)
-
I cant believe i forgot about this one!:
From the 1966 film Thunderbirds Are GO!: ZERO-X
(Pic Attached)
Its one of my favourite Gerry Anderson vehicles in the series.
This does qualify as a Sci-Fi ship right? i mean it does go into space and all..... :idk:
-
Thought I'd post again :D
Good Guys
Trek: Galaxy, Sovvie, Defiant, Mawasi cruiser, Nihydron warship... errmmm lots of others, but not all of them
Non-trek: Warlock Destroyer, ISA Excalibur, Reinvisioned Battlestar Galactica, Vorlon ships (all of them), Kushan Destroyer and Avatar Heavy Cruiser, Xill battlesaucer, Nebulon-B frigate and CR90 corvette, A-Wing
Bad Guys
Trek: Dom bugship, Cardie Galor, D'deridex, D7 battlecruiser, Krenim warship
Non-trek: Shadow Battlecrab, Thirdspace fighter, Taiidan Kudarrk assault frigate, Qwaar-Jet heavy cruiser, Shaak Tel 'Kapella' destroyer, ISD and Executor
Yeah I like a lot don't I?
-
My favourite science fiction ships of all time are the Romulan D'deridex Class Warbird, Starfleet's Nebula Class, Galactic Empire ISD 2, Principality of Zeon Chivvay Class (Gundam) http://mahq.net/mecha/gundam/msgundam/chivvay.htm, and Zeon Zanzibar class http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/Zanzibar-class
