Title: Mirroring in 3ds Max
Post by: furswift on May 04, 2010, 11:06:46 AM
Is there any way to mirror objects in 3ds Max without having them show up as dark gray in NifSkope? I think that's what's causing the shading problems on my Excelsior. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Should just be a case of highlighting the part you want to mirror, hit the mirror icon (>I< icon) in the upper right corner choose the right X,Y,Z to align to the original and select copy.

I use mirror all the time. I jest build half of what i need and mirror it from time to time to check if all is good, then combind it as a hole. It may be your exporter?

no thats 3ds max for ya, when you mirror it.

do a reset Xform.

it turns all black...select all polys and do: flip, that should fix it :)

Thanks guys, but I think I figured it out. For some reason, the mirror modifier seems to work. I was using the button at the top right of the screen. Why this doesn't work properly, I don't know.

Thanks again. :)
