Note I am not going for 100% canon on this one.
*Thanks Jimmy*
-
Star Wars?
-
Well I'm sure If I get this working in game there will be so trek retextures
And besidewe don't have one for the game.
-
lol thread title - im not sure about where you are in the UK, but in America "knocked up" is slang for being pregnant... :P
reading the thread title sort of has a whole different meaning in that respect :P
(btw - if you were trying to rename the thread to "Stardestroyer Bridge", you would need to edit the subject line in the first post, and then all posts thereafter will carry the new title...)
-
Oh Jimmy..:P
-
Well the pregnancy thing aside... :funny
Very cool! It'll be awesome to have a Star Destroyer bridge in game. Adds in some variety. :)
-
how many crew members will be on the bridge other than the 3 normal and the pain in the ass
-
One Question: Where's Vader? :P
-
how many crew members will be on the bridge other than the 3 normal and the pain in the ass
well, besides the normal bridge crew, there are 3 female and 3 male extra characters (as well as the other SP characters like Admiral Liu, Korbus, Data, etc etc etc) but it would take some scripting to have them all on the bridge at once...

*cues the Imperial March by Metallica*
Awesome work there baz!
....now we need GOOD Star Destroyers for this. :P

Means the same here as well as the term up the duff. but as you can see in the pic here is something I knocked up in late Dec 09.
But back on topic, wheres Vader well you would be Vader.
And as for the amount of crew there will be the standard bunch and as main extras I can use so there will be empty seats in the pits unless I model static crew memebers in.

Congratulations!
As for Vader, why not model him in like you would the static crew members you were talking about? Just a suggestion but it might be kinda cool.
-
th trouble with adding a static vader is if some one retextures the set to look more trekie then there is a man in a black suit to explain away!
-
True, I didn't think about that one.
-
This will go great with Wiley's star wars ships when he finishes them! :D
Looks great though.

Thought I'd brush this old thing off and give it some more work.
Note I'm still learn Vray so renders will look a little funny.
-
This bridge shall be :assimilate
-
The Borg don't have Squat on Star Wars!
-
Indeed, they will not be able to assimilate Han Solo's ego for example.. :funny
-
that bridge is close to what I remember, Good Work there Baz- :D
-
The Force is strong with this one....
-
Had to rebuild the whole aft section.
When I looked at ESB for texture ref I discovered the plans I had used were seriously wrong.
-
Great work! So the SD's bridge in ESB had a big wide curved corridor at the back?
how do you intend to tackle the viewscreen?
-
Lurok did some very clever things with his view screens for the shuttle bridges. Will this be the biggest bridge ever for Bc so far? Brillant work by the way.
-

Very old movie trick you can shoot a curved set and make it look longer or different from different angles.
The street on the back lot of universal used in Desperate Housewives is built to the same principle as were most trek corridor sets.
-
Ok everything done. Next to light map nd export.
-
BOY that is one BIGGG bridge :D
-
a few questions...
what are you going to do about the multiple "windows" as BC only allows for one viewscreen?
what about the fact that a BC bridge can only hold a certain number of crew on it at one time (making this bridge feel "empty")?
also, can BC even run a bridge of this physical size?
-
we'll probably find out soon. i expect to see it in my inbox for beta-ing when it's finished.
-
I stuck the model in game as is and other than a few lighting issues and the fact I have built it back to front the viewscreen seems fine.
I have decided to put a static starfield in the side windows as they are mirrored the main view.
-
Great work!
I like that George Lucas stuck a transporter pad near the command centre :) Sensible precaution, in case of emergency :P
-
that's not a transporter pad. that's a Holo-comm. the only transporters are in the star trek universe...everyone else uses shuttles

Would have been useful when that A-wing smashed into the bridge. Nice bridge baz, can't wait to play with it!

That was a joke, mate. But if we're going split hairs, the Stargate universe uses transporters too (and in Doctor Who, some aliens use something similar, too) :p
Keep up the great work, Baz ;)
-
I don't joke. a lot of people when I was growing up had NO sense of humor. that's probably why I can detect British Puns...the first real humor i was exposed to.
I had to think about it to remember the Stargate one (and the stargates themselves don't count), as every time i tried to watch something scifi, i got yarped at to change the channel so something else.
