I finally got BC run in Full Screen Mode which is a huge plus (no more stretched ships  :yay:), but the shield
and tactical windows are scrunched up. I've included an in game screenshot.

I know several others have also been able to get the game to run in FS mode. What am I missing here?
Is this the end result of editing the display resolution scripts?

-
the newest version of KM has widescreen support for some resolutions...  which resolution are you trying to achieve?

-
I modified script for 1680x1050 like the hack said, but as you can see, the shield icons are fubared.
Think I should try 1440x900 instead?
-
				KM has 1680x1050

-
You can't run it in 1680x1050 without modifying the scripts. Best you can get is 1024x768 with the stretched look of the ships.

-
KM Beta has a special script made for it so it has about 6 wide screen resolutions and 1680x1050 is part of it.

I'm part of the KM Team.
-
Yes, I know you're part of the KM team. You tell me that KM 1.0 supports 6 WS resolutions and 1680x1050 is included. That's great.

Regardless of those two facts, I just tried to run KM 1.0 in 1680x1050 and the game crashed, so what you're telling me doesn't match whats happening on my computer.

My apologies, Perhaps things weren't clear enough for you, so I will attempt to re-explain. After failing to get the game to work at 1680x1050 FS mode, I did manage to get the game to work at 1600x1200 windowed mode, but I can't see the shield or weapons display now.

If KM 1.0 does support 1680x1050 or 1600x1200 or 1440x900, how do I get KM 1.0 to run full FS at those resolutions without the game exiting to desktop, and how do I make it so that I can see my shield/weapons displays (not so they're way down at the bottom of the screen or scrunched up)?
-
Not KM 1.0... KM 1.1 beta... There is a new version of KM available on the KM website...

-
Downloaded and installed KM 1.1 Beta and patch. Fired up BC, selected additional resolutions tab, selected 1680x1050 and the game crashed.
Tried 1440x900 and 1600x1200 and the game still crashed.
-
It is crashing indeed but it's working properly ;) when you start it again you will see that the resolution is the one you've choosen, I also thought that's a bug but it is meant to crash after you change res to additionals (it does crash on both notebook and Pc)

-
I'd like to believe that was true, I really would. But, I still get the 3d render creation fail error after I tried all three
resolutions under "additional resolutions" and restarted BC.  :(
-
you are installing KM onto an untouched unmodded install of BC (only having BC's 1.1 patch applied)?

-
wait you get this error when starting BC after 'restart crash' ? or everytime you click on desired resolution option ?

-
I'm in the same boat, no matter what I do it still crashes to desktop.

-
out of curiosity what OS do you have and where do you install BC?

-
				@Jimmy

 Yes

 @Bones

Right, I selected the desired resolution from additionial resolutions, the game crashed. I restarted BC and got the "3D render creation failure" error message again.
I tried with all three of the resolutions and restarted BC several times each time I changed it, but it still crashed every time.

I have and Asus G72GX 17.3" WUGXA (1920x1080) Display with Windows 7 Home Edition. The
review says it should be able to play most games up to the full panel's resolution without much difficulty.

-
ok there.... please don't install BC in the programfiles directory.

-
Ok, I just reinstalled it to C:\Bridge Commander, not program files like you said and it still doesn't support the additional resolutions. :banghead:

-
I always install my games in C:\Games, just avoids all the issues Vista/7 cause with file protections....

 install order:
 BC
 BC 1.1 patch
 Kobayashi Maru 2009.12 Beta
 Kobayashi Maru 2010.02 Beta Update

having the game in full screen mode and changing the res to the new one will cause BC to crash but it should load up fine and in the new res.

always install my games in C:\Games, just avoids all the issues Vista/7 cause with file protections....
I never really had an issue with that. I always found installing games to their default directory avoided certain issues, but
I suppose you can never be too careful.

In any case, I finally got it to work at 1600x900 resolution, no cramped windows or major conflicts so far. Not sure if it
was just a glitch or if I just got lucky. God forbid I ever have to reinstall BC.  :eek

Thank you for your help and your patience.
-
Can anyone E-mail me the update, the KM website is constantly saying its unavailiable.
