I'm playing the campaign and I go through the first mission and I finish it and I'm going to meet with the Sovereign and it crashes, this has happened 3 times and its quite frustrating.I go to load the save and it isn't there any ideas?
-
this is a modded install correct?
-
uhhh I have ships but not a full game mod, I also have foundation I don't know if that counts.
-
you replace the sov?
-
not that I know of, just did venerator and victory star destroyers, the Millennium Falcon, and the Corellian Corvette.
-
I'm going to try and reinstall
-
Before Reinstalling, have you tried disabling all mutators?
-
opps already uninstalled and re installing, and I didn't have any, the button for mutators was gray.
-
ohhhh it was gray because I was in game, so you want me to turn them all off?
-
the mutator button will be gray when you are in either QB or SP you can only access it when not playing either of those... so only when you end them or start BC.
EDIT: LOL yeah... for now....
also if you edited the Sov HP you need to add the missing torp.
-
wait, I was playing with the Sovereign in quick battle, so that can't be it right?
-
that didn't answer my question lol
did you edit any ship HP files?
-

The campaign usually crashes when the game tries the access the Sovereigns phased Plasma Torpedoes which are not available in QB so that doesn't prove anything.
-
I don't know I may have.I'm taking it HP is Hardpoints?
-
Yep.
Make sure these three torpedo types are present:
Tactical.Projectiles.QuantumTorpedo
Tactical.Projectiles.PhotonTorpedo
Tactical.Projectiles.PhasedPlasma
PS: For the not saving issue check this thread.

those are there and I uninstalled BCMI so I hope that got rid of Foundation too, after I reinstalled the game the mods were still there and it still wouldn't save. The hardpoints you mentioned are all there though.
-
Good you got rid of BCMI (get BCUT instead), but that won't get rid of Foundation. Actually if you installed the Foundation from BCMI you shouldn't be having save problems since it doesn't include SubMenu.
Go to your Autoload folder and look for these two files:
000-Fixes20040628-ShipSubListV3_7Foundation.py and 000-Fixes20040628-ShipSubListV3_7Foundation.pyc
If they're there, then get rid of them, for some unknown reason they make it so the game will not save.
-
what is the exact path for that autoload folder?I searched for it and couldn't find it, I think it is because when I uninstalled the game I went behind it and deleted the rest of the files it left behind.
-
scripts\custom\autoload
-
nope no custom folder, just- Actions, AI, Bridge, Conditions, Icons, Maelstrom, MainMenu, multiplayer,Quickbattle,Ships, systems, and tactical. whats this _init_.pyc file?is it part of foundation?
-
you need the init and no.
also you are going beyond the problem here... Nero you didn't help >.>

this kinda tells me you don't have foundation installed correctly somehow....
I'd start on a fresh install.
BC
BC 1.1 patch
(then get BCUT and let it install foundation)
start the game up check out SP then add one mod at a time (and test them one at a time)
-
When you install Foundation from BCUT make sure you select Basic Installation, since that will leave out SubMenu.
-
oh damn I didn't notice this went on to a new page.Like I said I uninstalled BC and than went and deleted the folder with the stuff it left behind, including I imagine Foundation.I'm not interested in the rest right now I just wanna play the single player, I installed the patch and now it crashes as I'm warping to Starbase 12 from drydock.
-
Hmm...
If you happen to use Vista or Windows 7 try installing the game to a different folder than program files
e.g. C:\Games.
-
Yeah, as said above if you're on Vista or W7 you have to manually delete the other files that are installed to/saved to/created in the hidden VirtualStore folder.
Type this in the address bar in my computer...
Users/*username*/appdata/local/virtualstore...and you can take it from there since the folder directory setup is the same as in normal program files.
Also make sure you are the admin account and turn off the UAC in the control panel that will help with things too.
