Title: Sao Paulo (Defiant) retexture (VIDEO)
Post by: Lurok91 on November 11, 2010, 02:46:21 PM
An old project I dusted off and finished.  Retexture of existing v3 Defiant bridge.  Wanted to make lcars more canon-looking than current ones.  Can't seem to do anything with bright walls at rear; hardwired into nif.

I know Sean has a proper remodel of the SP (a Defiant V4.0), with the additional console at back, and he mentioned he could let me have to finish off and hopefully release.

Sean's V4.0

That would be awesome, the current 3.0 Defiant bridge is definitely showing its age...

Pretty good retexture, those LCARS look very canon.

To quote Bashir: "I hate the carpet. I do." But that does not mean that i don't like it.

if you look at memory alpha, only some panels at the walls are purple. the carpet is more gray.

The carpeting isn't as bright (contrast:y) purple, as you have it currently. Check the below image for reference.

Well spotted as always  :)  Can't for life of me think why I made carpets that purple  :banghead:    Must have been in some kind of haze.  Think I was going on vague memories of Dogs of War, and maybe lighting gave it a tint.  Easy enough to fix.   And I thought it was Paolo (my bad), it's Paulo. Fixed.  :)

changed carpet  :)

it still should have a purple hue to it

Something like this (keep in mind, it's a rather crude edit):

Changes:
- Added dark purple hue to the carpeting (note that I haven't recolored the carpet under the captains chair as of yet)
- Reduced saturation on purple trim and captains chair

When I said earlier "It's too purple", I meant it primarily that you have the color itself "too bright". A reduction in saturation of all purple surfaces would've done wonders. My editing skills in Photoshop is merely to demonstrate something closer to how I believe it should look.

The panneling would look much better like that.  Bit more darker and then it would suit perfect.
