Title: My Nebula Pack
Post by: StarkillerTFU2 on December 19, 2010, 08:35:41 PM: here?s are a few pics from my upcoming nebula pack. the textures are 4096x4096, and since i do have a special care for 56k users, i?ll try to compress the file as much as i can.

Post by: Bones on December 21, 2010, 11:26:09 AM: Those are great but 4096 ?? I guess 2048 would be much better ;) not everyone can handle 4096 maps + high poly ships in one scene, not to mention some people are stuck with outdateg hardware so 4096 won't even work for them ...

Post by: King Class Scout on December 21, 2010, 12:40:50 PM: as long as huge textures aren't paired with high polys, i might be able to get away with 4096...for about two seconds (my graphics card is for friggin win 9x, i swear!)

Post by: Bones on December 21, 2010, 05:09:48 PM: 4096 pack will be awesome addition, if you want it to be for everyone then make several resolution packs ;) low quality - 512, standard quality - 1024, high quality - 20148 and finally ultra quality - 4096

btw. how many maps you have already replaced apart from those two ??

these pics are problably going to be the last ones, since i?ll stop modding, to solve a little problem in my PC. my monitor and my GFX Card aren?t getting along, so i?ll have to investigate further and try to solve it. that?s why my pics are without AA and AF now.

btw, here are the max resolutions supported by ATi videos:
Radeon 9*** series: 2048x2048
Radeon X series: 4096x4096
Radeon HD series: 8192x8192 :P
max texture resolution for all of the gpu manufacturers:
from 2001 to 2004: 2048x2048
from 2004 to 2007 : 4096x4096
from 2007 to nowadays: 8192x8192

For sometime only, don?t worry, my neb pack will be released, with 5 types of resolution. 8192x(requested by Bones. Ultra High-End PCs. Example: Sovereign001 PC)/4096x(High-End PCs only)/2048x(Normal Res)/1024x(Med-End PCs)/512x(Voodoo Cards).
