Awesome work was put into this and is GREATLY appreciated. I really like this pack as it looks like how it was in the movies. However, I wanted to make some changes and need help (step by step and what free programs to do this in) in doing so and will be for my use only. Here is what I would like to change:
1) Saucer: the ship registry is almost canon but would like to change it to reflect more like it did in the movies.
2) Nacelles: the (NCC-1701, NCC-1701-A, etc, are a little larger than on the filming model) anyway to reduce the size on end?
3) Secondary Hall: the delta sign and stripe are not as sharp, and all the docking ports are not as inverted as it was on the filming model.
4) How do you create the phaser bumps, I seen them on other mods?
Other than that, This is really superb and a must have. Thank you for any help.

To answer your question, I would like to redirect you to Baz1701's thread:

His Refit Enterprise is really close to "canon." All textures look to be really crisp and he features a fully modeled arboretum. Phaser bumps can only be achieved through a 3d modeling program like 3ds max or Gmax etc.
Hope this answers your question, and welcome to the forums! :D

Thanks for the tip. I know Baz1701 put hard work into this one. Actually yours is very close to canon as well. I tried to use your top and bottom saucer on the Enterprises for the link in my last post. The top for the A blended well, the bottom of the A, and both top and bottom refit came out white. Any suggestions? And was there a guide on 3ds to create the phaser bumps?
-
@ WC: I ask because your Enterprise registries are a lot sharper and clearer. I tried to combine your saucer pics onto Zambie's ship (half way worked) which is stated in the previous post. I was wondering what did you use to create the registries? (Paint, or Photoshop?)

You probably deleted the original textures and simply added the new ones without letting the nif (ship mesh) recognize the new ones. You can change this is Nifskope.
And was there a guide on 3ds to create the phaser bumps?
Not to my knowledge.

Thank you again. I know this may sound tedious, but how to do so in NifSkope to correct the textures (I can only view it in NifSkope)? And which program did you use to create your registries? Again thank you for your assistance.

You can manually change textures in nifskope, by finding each material (small flower icon next to each texture) and replacing it with the one you want to use. This will be too much to explain in this post. Other people may be able to help you.
And which program did you use to create your registries?
I use Photoshop for my registries and textures.

How else do you expect to learn? :)

The easiest way is to model small low poly spheres in phaser areas then map them with dark grey map (even tiny 8x8 pixel map will do it) but of course this is the lamest idea on making it ;)
Harder way is to export phaser 'balls' from any TMP ship that have them and fit them into WZ's Connie
The proper way to deal with it is to actually model them as they should be - focusing lens like half spheres (at least they look like this to me :P) mapped grey with black spot in the middle of it.
take your pick ;)

I opened it up and did not find the flower icon in any of them. Is there a link on this site that can walk me through this?

@ WC: I seen some were upset that I went back to posts that were a few years old. It is not I don't respect the work, I just liked the work done to it and see it was anything close which your Enterprises are. Keep up the good work and sorry if it was rude to ask these questions.

I don't get the impression anyone upset :)
The 'flower' you're looking for is the purple icon in nif image below. If you click on that in Nifskope, it will open up new box to select replacement texture. Hope that helps :)
