It's pretty demanding for the hardware. I think I might be facing an upgrade.. :lostit:

Hmm. Not too bad. Although I would never be able to run it on my current desktop. :hithead:
My old roomate has been goin nuts over this.

I was beta testing it and it was pretty good, tho mission descriptions are quite confusing and sometimes you can't pinpoint you true target amongst tons of other enemy ships ... GFX wise it does kicks slower machines, tried it on ACER notebook with i5 430, 3 gb DDR3 and ATI HD 5470 and it beat the hell out of it's cooling :P so I switched to my desktop, alot smoother now but still something's missing... I wish they make it more Freelancer like ...

it indeed is heavy to run.. I've turned most of the graphics to medium or low, some even off, still get lag during missions.. oh well.. could be a matter of future patch.

Some of the tutorial missions are bit.. unclear at first.

I've downloaded it again because my closed beta doesn't work anymore, got to admit they have improved it quite a bit ;) ship is still a bit unresponsive and the lag factor is 10/10 for most players but now you actually get some reasonable mission briefing instead of a message like : 'destroy 3 pirate fightres in "dunno-what-name" system' which was quite a BS considering that when I actuaqlly got to the system there were like 30 pirate ships (not too challenging) and when I got rid of them they just keep coming... no success or no mission complete... nothing... I was supposed to gun down 3 ships tho.
Anyway this time I was pleased with nice battle at the beginning, loading times are pain in a$$ and the Sirius asteroid field kicked the crap out of my laptop :P

well, once I got past the tutorial missions ( away from the spire and commander noah etc, chose faction etc), the lag has reduced significantly. I'm slowly cranking up the graphics to see what will cause a slowdown..

Well, I'm running with background and textures set to high/very high, shadows turned off, bloom set to low and of course no AA or AF the rest is set to low or medium , finally got it working smoothly.
I'm getting used to interface, it's cool and all but after some time spent in Spire taking random missions from the station I found them VERY repetitive , there are plenties of the exact same missions named 'Assasination' , 'Infiltration' etc. even story missions aren't too different...
Still this is by far one of the best space combat games :) maybe it will never reach the level of Freelancer but still it's cool
