Title: Starfleet R-D Consitution Refit MVAM missing textures
Post by: ekbalam on March 27, 2011, 08:05:23 PM
Kudos to SFRD on this ship. She's a beauty and the shuttlebay is amazing! However, there seems to be a problem with some of the textures. The walls to the immediate left and right of the shuttlebay entrance, as well as the forward and aft arboretum walls appear to be missing textures. Rather than the gray they appear to be in the screenies and the texture file, only those walls are showing a solid bright white.

I've tried reimporting the texture files to no avail. I'd love to do some POTDs with this, but the missing textures are a pain. Thoughts?

hm.  some of us testers never got close enough to check those bits (even with collisions off, an allied ship will fly off before you get too close).  some of us were more concerned with the MVAM actually working.  let's let baz chime in on this, first.  we've been having weird texture problems lately...

are you using enhanced glows? the shuttle bay and the garden have a glow map so the appear to be self lite. I don't use the enhanced glow as I feel it washed the glows out to much.

k I have imported the nif back to  max and the textures are fine.

Quite strange. I've reinstalled the ship 2 or 3 times and still have the same problem. I don't used advanced glows either for the same reason as you.

:idk:

What package are you rendering in?

IF you are using max, set the glow texture to diffused and self illumination (in this one turn the map to alpha channel) and spec map to specular highlights. And make the base colour black or the texture is to bright.

For rendering add a sky light set to 0.3 and place a omni set to .7 at your light source. In reneder tab set the advance light to radiocoty and hit render.
