Hi everyone, I've just reinstalled BC after a few years... decided to download BC supermod 3 as it was a nice collection of mods. I installed everything to the letter as told to in the readme, but having a few problems. Namely, the textures on the Galaxy are off. Deflector dish and the registry are wrong, not sure what to do.
Anyone able to shed some light on this? I did exactly as was instructed to.
System specs are as follows incase it helps.
i3 4.20Ghz (oc'd)
gtx 460GTS
win 7 HP 64bit
4Gb DDR RAM
Any assistance will be appreciated!

turn SDT off in the mutators then restart BC then turn it on and restart BC.
this may fix it.
IIRC
-
No that was off already the same problem persists.
-
then it should be ON.
-
Tried with both f and on no fix yet it just seems to be textures with that model as the refit galaxys look fine in quick battle. I Googler it and seems to have happened to other people but no fix posted. Looks like a simple texture error but it may be more than thati dont know.

for this mod you need to have all mutators on.
-
I've tried that already I think but maybe I missed something will try again in the morning.
-
I did a complete uninstall, install, patch and again followed the instructions in the readme but still getting the same texture errors. I don't get it :hithead:

okay, sounds like a problem I had. is the Gal an SNS (scotchy's) ? his Gal tends to conflict with a lot of others, for some reason.
-
I think so but will have to check on bcfiles.

I think it's completely buggered. In quick battle the new ships appear as ??? in the HUD, im getting CTD's (more than you usually would). Think I'm going to ditch this supermod...
Will be playing SP for the most part, so really just want nice Galaxy/Sovereign models, better backgrounds etc. Anything that will enhance the SP graphically so it doesn't look so rough. Any suggestions?

Just noticed when I launch the batch file to prepare the BC install for the supermod, it says file path not found... is this becuase im on a 64bit so the directory is slightly different with the x86 thing? Just a thought... just don't get why it won't work. KM was great but buggered the SP campaign up a lot with constant CTD. Really want to get this working!

OH THERE WE GO... XD
DO NOT INSTALL BC IN THE PROGRAM FILES FOLDER... Install it into a new directory like C:\Games...
I glossed over the Win7 bit... Win7 has a tendency to mess with BC mods if you install the game in the default directory.

Eureka its working I found a list of the files I need toremove and now it works a treat :). Not encountered any problems yet will keep you posted. Just wish nano FX would work in sp mmode without making it so unstable! Cheers guys.

*facepalm* at least it's working. you should have said right away you were installing on Win 7/Vista format.

lol He did in the first post... I just missed it...

no real need to create a whole stickied thread for this one point IMO... while it comes up here and there, people can just be advised as needed about it...

So, is this why my BC install keeps screwing itself up? Because it's in the default location? :bitch:

That would be the problem if you're running Windows Vista/7. I have mine installed in C:\Users\Public\Games and have not had any issues. My advice is to install all your PC games in that directory just to be on the safe side.

thanks for the heads up. can I just copypaste the files there and try changing the desktop quick launch icon to use that location?
