Is anyone having problems with their SATA data cables coming loose all the time? Mine seem to be coming very slightly loose, just enough for a connection but not enough for any decent performance from my disks!
I have a new-ish disk (one of those spinpoint F3 1 TB jobbies) and it *should* be getting around a 100MB/s transfer rate. Mine is currently at a max of 42, with an average of just 2.8!
I've had this problem a few times. Every time I've pulled the cables and reconnected them thereby fixing the problem but it keeps happening again and again. Every few months I will be just about to hit "save" and pow! My pc has a fit and dies with a stop error. Annoying!
Any advice?

It's not something I've ever come across before. I had always assumed my motherboard was on the fritz or something and changed which sata ports they were plugged into!
Meh.
