dont know if someone noticed it, but doesen't the front section from the x-303/304 reminds a little bit the deflector section from the defiant?
-
yeah your right, weird huh?
-
Yeah, they got ispired y the tough little ship :P
-
And the X-304 takes inspiration from Battlestar Galactica...
-
Where did you guys hide the rum!?
I don't see any resemblance!

Uhm, I think they mean the shape of it...it dips down like the Defiant nose/deflector.

Yep, that was it.

pretty random resemblence if you ask me ;)
You get same feeling when you look in following order on following ships : Sulaco (Aliens) -> Omega class (Babylon 5) -> Halcyon class (Pillar of Autumn / Halo) all those ships bear some resemblence to eachother but I guess the inspiration was pretty loose while designing (overall shape was similiar and that's it)
Defiant is completely different shape and type of design, it's aerodynamic while X303 is bulky and resembles aircraft carriers :P
did I just spoke like a nerdy smartass ???
-
well the Pillar of Autumn resembling the Sulaco was probably on purpose, a lot of people at Bungie are big fans of the Alien series, heck there are references through out the series.
-
yeah, noticed some of them as well as in Mass Effect 1 & 2 ;) Bioware staff got to be aliens and BSG series fans too

Actually, the Leonov from 2010 would be between the Sulaco and the Omega class. (It actually more resembles the Omega, the rotating bit, heh.)
