I've tried everything I could possibly think of, and I still get a garbled user interface at resolutions above 1280x800 It's kind of irritating because I have plenty of power to run the game at 1680x1050 and I'm stuck at 1280x800. I've tried 1680x1050 & 1440x900 on 3 different systems all with the same exact results.
Main System Specs:
AMD Zambezi FX 8150 @ 4ghz
AMD/ATI Radeon HD 6970 @ 950mhz
12gb of ddr3 memory
four 320gb 7200rpm drives in raid 0
Laptop Is a dell 1501 with a ATI XPress 200m
Other system:
Phenom II x3 unlocked and overclocked to 4ghz
6gb of ddr3 memory
ATI Radeon HD 4870x2
120gb Vertex 3 SSD
Here's Some screenshots at 1280x800

And at 1680x1050

Also, the game works fine even at 1680x1050 if it weren't for the UI being all garbled.
I have even tried on a 100% stock version of bridge commander with the exact same results. Of course it didn't work right out of the box, I followed the instructions in this thread: http://forums.filefront.com/st-bc-modding-editing/386237-widescreen-1680x1050-hack-howto.html
Also another few notes:
I run Eyefinity with 3 monitors and my native res is 5040x1050, it doesn't interfere with anything, as I've disabled it and get the same results.
I have tried 20 different graphics drivers to no avail.
My laptop has the same issue. ( I plugged it into my monitor, otherwise it's native res is 1280x800 and it works fine )
My other system has the same problem, even at 1440x900
I can load 50+ ships in quick battle and it won't even lag, at any resolution, however the UI still won't render properly.

thats odd cuz i run mine @ 1350 (if i recall correctly?) and i NEVER had this issue... or even heard of it for that fact :idk:

Let me ask the following first before posting anything: Have you customized your driver settings in the Catalyst Control Center?
-
Yes. And No. Yes I have, in every which way, and nothing, I reset everything to defaults, nothing. I've also tried everything in between. Also, I have tried several different driver versions. Even eliminated all overclocking settings. And a million combinations of the above, no effect, and because this is happening on three different computers I do believe it has to do with my settings in bridge commander itself.
-
Well let's follow this lead then... can you post your options.cfg then?
-
:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:
Well I figured it out... it's a simple mistake, it's what happens when you don't follow installation instructions, I forgot all about the patch. So, I pulled the files out of the official patch and replaced them according to the newest time stamp, and voila it's working flawlessly.

Oh, and if you still want to take a look at my configuration file: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/79821231/Bridge_Commander/options.cfg

Nope, the matter is resolved.
