Title: Buttons on Start options GUI missing!
Post by: blackaceangel on April 05, 2013, 10:14:01 PM
Hello,

I dusted off my old copy of Bridge Commander and installed it on my Windows 7 64bit PC.  All seems to works ok until I get to the first Start options GUI (where you select 'new game' or 'multiplay' etc options).  Most of the buttons on this screen is missing or flickering.  I have try to run the game in combatibity modes 'windows XP' and 'run as administrator' with no luck.

Do anybody knows how to fix this? Please :help:

Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate
AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor, 3200 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
2x AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series 9.12.0.0

Also installed patch v1.1

older games like BC can be picky where they are installed, what's the file directory of your BC install?

oh yeah, I forgot about that.  BC can't be installed in the default file location on 7/Vista.  it derps.

I unstalled the game from C:\Program Files(x86)\Activision\Bridge Commander and deleted all registry entries, the restalled the game to C:\Program Files\Activision\Bridge Commander.  But still getting the same problem.

you did the same thing... do not install BC in program files x86 or just program files... install it in a place like C:\Games

Clearing the registry is only half of what you need to do. Did you also remove both Bridge Commander folders? From Vista onwards you gotta remember about the (hidden)VirtualStore folder where many game created files and more are placed instead of the games actual directory.
