The performance of my current computer seems to be going down. BC is becoming less and less playable by the month. I've tried different drivers. I defrag once a week and run ccleaner once a month. I physically clean in every three months. This computer is basically a 2006 and the important stuff(motherboard, cpu, psu(300w) and hard drive) hasn't been touched. I'm starting to worry. Space is also an issue along with being forced to play most of my games at settings lower than I should be. I'm just looking at a tower only since the monitor, speakers, mouse and keyboard are all still very much useable. Also, I would like to keep my current Radeon HD 5450 for games and internet stuff and have the onboard gpu just focus on the operating system only. I here that helps too.
So, here are my current choices.

Cooler Master Elite(default case)
MSI p23
AMD fx-4300
full system assemble and testing
1 Avant 8gb 1333
1 Western Digital 500gb Caviar Blue
1 LiteOn 24x DVD writer
W7 64bit oem
standard 12 month warranty
onboard graphics, sound and network cards
=$503

+$4 for 8gb(2x4) ddr3 1333 Kingston
+$7 for 500gb Toshiba sata
+$96 for W7 64bit oem
= $477
The second option might be my best I believe.

I like those options look at cyberpower too

The back to school is a bit more customizeable and they give a good system.

I always suggest making a system that can be augmented to what you eventually want..

with what it sounds like, I agree. me and the mate just had to get a new lappy. a simple game was making the motherboard overheat, and pretty much rendered the thing useless.

I looked at both the CyberPower and IBuyPower customizable options via Walmart online. The thing is that there was now way for me to know beforehand what psu I would be getting and I've read a few comments that said that the psu that they got was not up to snuff at all(300w) with the rest of the system(requiring no less than 500w). At the end of the day I actually went with CPU Solutions and choose the fx-6300 instead of the fx-4300. I also made some slightly different choices with the ram and dvd drive with the final tally(shipping included) came out to under $600. I know I will be happy with this.

That sounds like a good job. Hope you like it!
