ATP : Dimensions - UNFINISHED
« on: November 02, 2017, 11:23:09 AM »
ok so i figure long enough time has passed to release this mod as is...

***it is NOT finished***

there will be things in this mod that wont work or will cause the game to crash - just a heads up!

anyone is free to install this, just be certain is it a fresh install, untouched (patch only)...

any modders out there - feel free to jump into it from where it was left off, perhaps it can go further!
or perhaps extract what works and fix those elements for release :)

please post in this thread any thoughts, evaluations, suggestions, any new fixes if done, etc...

enjoy :)

This site which explains what the project was all a out is still up after all these years!!

Yay!  :yay:

Even though I'm not a coder (not considering my limited capabilities of doing minor alterations to ship specific scripts), I'm very interested to see what Alexis "Apollo" Rombaut had in mind when developing ATP:D and whether or not some of the features can be adapted somehow.
From what I saw, that mod seems to have inspired DS9FX, Galaxy Charts and many others.

(Is Apollo fine with the release of ATP:D?)
TaH pagh, Tah be.

yes...
that, and the entire team that worked on ATP:D has been gone since before BCU died and not able to be found to get in touch with (i have tried)...
it has been over 10 years since this mod died out, i am certain that it is ok to release as is by now...

Haven't had the chance to play with it yet, but what I've seen while skimming over the files is impressive.

Also: Turrets!
As in: Movable, independently targeting turrets shooting at everything hostile! Damn cool if that works!

So, I have installed a vanilla copy of the game and dumped Foundation on top of it. I then installed ATP:D.

I activated the new mutators.

When I try to load any of the new ships, the game crashes, and none of the features I remember being excited about (such as the galaxy map) are listed in the crew's menus.

I also tried installing this on top of a copy of my modded-up Kobyashi Maru install, thinking maybe it needed something else to hook into... no success.

Does this have any particular requirements? Is there a readme floating around?

there isnt a readme for ATP:D or list of requirements im afraid...  :(
the mod itself is buggy as i noted, it may not even work...  the only thing i can confirm that works is the new more aggressive AI...

Rob was right - this was like bait Jimmy!

I've had a look through - it's only part of the thing by the look of it? Do you mind if I ask how you came by it Jimmy?

On a similar note, I've fired up an old laptop today and found an old Alpha copy of Wowwie's Armada Project. I got it when he released it on the old BCS:TNG Forum but that's obviously long gone now.

I imagine there's quite a few of these on our PCs from days gone by?

hmm that was so many years ago, back at BCU...
it was a top secret hush hush thing in those days for quite a while...
maybe MLeo?  it could have been Viper or LC...  possibly BR... someone on the ATP:D team, i honestly dont recall...
