Expected downtime

We will more then likely be experiencing down time this weekend as hour host moves servers. I would ask all our patrons to be patient while this downtime takes place, and thank them for their continued support for BC Central.

Okay, the switch has been sucessfully completed. We have however lost any recent changes in the database, including posts from the last 24 hours. I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

actually, I never noticed slowdowns
and I don't have a top-of-the-line provider lol

Ok major major screw up somewhere. I\'ve managed to access bcc using a proxy server, but without it i get this. im not the only one with this problem and it only started after the switch over. its been like this since 21:00 GMT last night 20/12/2007.

This is what is appearing

Clear your dns, we moved servers (I think).

Open a command prompt (Start->Run->cmd) and type in the following:

ipconfig /flushdns
[EDIT] To explain futher:
If you accessed BC through that proxy for the first time, then that proxy will have gotten the correct, new, ip from his dns, while your computer is currently still holding on to the old address because it's cache says it hasn't expired yet. Which is why you need to flush it.
I still can't read peoples minds, nor can I read peoples computers, even worse, I can't combine the two to read what is going wrong with your BC install...

yes its your DNS thats the problem, DNS meaning Domain Name Server, since it is still linking you to the old host which is no longer operational

you need to either wait for your ISP or whoever else runs the DNS server you use to update, or you could switch over to using an open access DNS server (like openDNS).
