GALAXY CLASS BRIDGE RETEXTURE
« on: December 24, 2007, 11:48:38 AM »
Hi, i've been messing around with retexturing a bridge for the first time and I decided to have a go at the Galaxy. Here's what I have so far. What do you think? It's basically got new carpets and is more grey than the origional. Also who made the bridge? It was the one that came with KM 1.0 because i'd have to get their permission if I was going to release it.

Thanks, here's the kind of style i'm aiming for. Does anybody know how to dim the lighting when the ship isn't in red alert because It's too bright? This is meant to be a more modern version of the Galaxy bridge as it is not as yellow as the original. There's still quite a lot of work to be done (seats, roof, etc)

I got these pictures below of another website.

Ok I think it's done. Not bad for a couple of hours work imo. I'm pretty pleased with it considering it's my first bridge retexture. Btw, I've deleted every diagram of the Galaxy class of this bridge (there was only a few anyway) so it can be used for Nebula and Galaxy X or any other ship you want. Infact the plaque for the ship says it's for my Section 31 Century Class but I don't know if i'm going to use it for that lol.

Unfortunately I have one huge problem. I don't know who made the original for the KM 1.0 because it's a retexture of that. Can anyone help because I need to get their permission to release it?

Well I think you need to consider what you are actually releasing.. will your retexture only work on the KM version of the galaxy bridge or will it work on the stock galaxy bridge? What will your retexture actually require to work?

I know you have stated that its a retexture of the KM bridge, but as far as I can tell you have only changed maps which are present on the stock bridge - if thats the case you can just include the textures you have changed and release it for any install (maybe stating you made it with the KM galaxy in mind).

Just be sure to make that clear for people when writing your readme and description, and remember to credit anyone for work you may include.

Well I just changed the textures in Models/Sets/DBridge. So will that be the stock bridge?

It looks cool. Have you ever imagined that a minor change can alter the entire feeling?

Ooooooh, you know what I always thought would be TOTALLY cool!? A Galaxy MSD on the aft of the galaxy bridge, similar to what you did when you retextured the Generations bridge for use with the Century line of ships. :D Just some food for thought.
