JJ/TOS Enterprise mix
« on: April 25, 2009, 03:53:26 PM »
A member from the SFC community (Fallen_Warrior) made a kitbash of JJ/TOS elements and I can't help but feel curious as to how we react to it. I personally think it is mishapen.

The main difference between the JJPrise and the TOS-Prise is the neck. The TOS-Prise's neck leans much further forward than the JJPrise.

Slightly different side on render, here's what I think it should look like to balance things out.

Edit: Added original render.

I am sorry, but this is one kitbash which simply just doesn't work.
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

Understand that the kitbasher isn't brilliant with meshes so the fact that he did pull this off at all is quite impressive.

What about the tweaks pic I posted Billz?

Its mainly the secondary hull which looks very odd. Its too long and fat and doesn't even make me think of the Constitution class. Looks more like a freighter at the moment.

Perhaps do something with the saucer section aswell.
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

Agreed, it's the Drive section that messes up the whole flow, it's too large in general, the positioning of the nacelle pylons makes it seem bigger than it is. The neck starts "too soon" if you know what I mean, making the back end look kind of odd. WIth that said though, it has potential.

...Probably not, but the number I get(379.6m) could be considered ?original intent,? a term that I think I will be using from now on, and ?canon? be damned.

Not only that, but I never gave permission for him to kitbash my ship and release it. :?  If there was a more TOS version of the JJprise, a whole new ship would have to be built.  The JJprise is all about curves, while the TOS version is not.

As far as I know, he didn't release it Wiley. Just messing around to make a mix.

I got these pictures from Centurus cos Centurus is an SFC guru so there's a good chance that Fallen_Warrior that he's going to Centurus for guidance

To put it simply, it's nowhere and SFC Files don't have it.

That is cool. Makes it seem like you could easily retexture Wiley's JJPrise. :P

The color scheme at the front of the drive sction (blue bit) really looks outta place when you mash the 2 ships together though.

As I was doing before God smote my computer, here is the second version and a comparison of the two versions.
