what if?
« on: September 29, 2010, 07:35:03 PM »
Hi I am Matt and i started thinking of something while I was in the medical room in college  after hurting my spine. so i got bored.  I thought - what kind of ship would i want if i was head of starfleet (after nemesis) so i came up with something i would love, let me know what you think an what you would have.

I would take a Galaxy class
remove the neck and directly place the saucer section on to the engineering section
i would then smoothen out the saucer section so it is not obstructing the sensor aray
i woild have a torpedo bay directly under that
i would the shove 4 warp cores in to the ship for more power
with the power i would want to place quantem launchers on the ship.
2 foward
1 rear
1 port
1 star
i would leave the phasors how the are
i would also have the necells based on the intrepid so it can go up or down
then i would reinforce the hull an have 2 seperate shield generators
(like 2 layers)
i would then improve the impulse and thurusters.
lastly i would have a ship wide holo grid to help against boarding parties.

thats basically it. what about you people :P

someone's allready done a take on this.

this is a ringdrive alternate mirrorverse version that's similar to what you described.  it fights pretty good, too.

It's my Sobieski class tho war refitted which means Cortez class :P
-Additional two quantum torp launchers on the aft neck wall
-advanced quantum prototype turret placed on fore sensor array dome
-additional nano tech powered hull armor along every weak spot of the ship (outer/inner saucer rim, sec hull, nacelles)
-boosted warp core
-more phasers arrays (covering dorsal sections)
-boosted shields output
-new name : U.S.S. Goldberg (former [pre 1945] German name of my hometown)

Legacy-Class
U.S.S. Mumbai-C
NCC 43210-C

She's sleek, has a decent armory, impressive sublight & emergency warp speed, swift computers, properly put together sensors, and diplomatic grade. But, she's not overly huge and virtually bristling with fighters or drones that could easily touch-off an unnecessary confrontation during delicate first impressions.

as a general rule, it isnt a good thing to make requests for ships...
modders usually never take requests as they are all busy and backlogged with their own projects...  if you want something that hasnt been done yet, youll have to take on the major process of doing it yourself...
feel free to ask any questions about doing it yourself in the Modding forum - modders are always happy to help by offering advice and guidance, just not doing it themselves...  :)
