can anyone figure out what this insignia/emblem is?!
« on: October 18, 2007, 01:28:53 AM »
As some of you might know im working on a texture pack for LC's Defiant, i have pretty much finished the texture for the Terran Defiant from DS9's "shattered Mirror" except for one thing..
from what i can see there is the blue earth symbol but there is something else there, it might be the sword but as you can see there is something red.
There is another earth symbol on the bottom of her but it has'nt got the other thing the symbol has on the nacelle has.
So has anyone got any good ideas?, haha

I think "shattered mirror" wasn't actually the terran reality, but an alternate universe.
if that's the case, then it's ok they don't use the Terran simbol.
AFAIK, the Terran empire fell after TOS.

dunno, someone correct me...

but i know its an earth on the bottom. maybe ill just chuck an earth on the side and someone might correct me when i release it, cause on DS9 a couple of the epsiodes showed the earth symbol on humans that were slaves on Terok Nor

it almost looks like they just pasted the earth symbol over the Starfleet pennant on the texture

The FX in that episode were model work, if I'm not horrendously, irrevocable mistaken.

Klingon Academy now works on XP/Vista/Win 7 thanks to one dude's patches, click here for details. I highly recommend it!

The "Mirror Universe" seen in DS9, was a continuation of the Mirror Universe seen in ENTERPRISE (In A Mirror Darkly) and TOS (Mirror, Mirror). They specifically mentioned in the DS9 episode "Crossover" that Kirk came from another universe and convinced the Mirror Spock that there might be another form of "order" other then the Terran Empire. After Spock made a bunch of reforms to the Empire, it left it severely weakened and was eventually conquered by the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance. This led to a group of Terrans forming the "Terran Resistance" to overthrow the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance, and they eventually succeeded by first capturing Terok Nor (DS9) and later Regent Worf, leader of the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance.

i feel like they left that story line kind of open, with the intendant escaping, and im sure there would have been a leader for the cardassians, an equal leader similar to the regent, plus, i think the war would have kept on going,

I doubt The Alliance would have surrendered just because the regent was captured, haha
i wish they did rap it up properly

Yeah that is a earth on the bottom.

Can't find any clear shots of the side. the Only Clear shot of the Side on TrekCore is of it under construction but no paint job yet.
