It has to be less than 1 deck, that is if they didn't rescale it 3 times its TOS size.

Yeah, those have to be torp tubes.

Ok, heres some closeups of the missles in action against the Kelvin. Interesting that it starts out as one warhead and then has about 8-12 mini warheads that scatter off of it that turns it from a normal missle into a barrage weapon. They do seem to have a kind of Tholian look to them.

Hey, little tiny buggers like that absolutely have to be devastating.  Besides, I can see those as a mining implement used to loosen up hard rock formations for easy mining.

wouldn't having spotlight all around an aft torpedo launcher kind of like painting a target on you're hull?

Hardly matters.  What about the big bright bulb on top of the bridge?  Oh yeah, that definitely is painting a target.  And that is on other ships besides the JJPrise, mind you.

Kellogg's is doing a Star Trek movie promotion.  There is a small image of the Enterprise and it shows the bussard collectors glowing blue.

I guess it matches TMP nacelles better.

Leggo my Star Trek Eggos!!

Anyway, that MIGHT just be a promotional image seeing as how other shots with the ship at warp at that angle don't have glowing bussards.  :?  I wish Intel would update their site with a rotatable model of the Enterprise...

I seen that a few weeks ago on Trek Core. Pretty cool Layout. I'm starting to like it.

You know, it looks almost TNG from that angle. If it was with a few tweaks, I'd have it!
"To live on as we have is to leave behind joy, and love, and companionship, because we know it to be transitory, of the moment. We know it will turn to ash. Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love is eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received."

Especially Yelchin.  At least the others look somewhat like the character they're supposed to be, Yelchin's way off.

At least they kept true to the character and have him saying "wessle" each time.

I bet ya there will a Lost reference in the move some where. A hidden Dharma logo? (Branch of Section 31 anyone? lol)

Well, there is a Cloverfield reference in the movie so I don't doubt that one bit...plus this is JJ we're talking about here...its a requirement lol.

One thing I don't like about the XI Ent is the bottom of the saucer is very bare, it looks incomplete to me.

That and the appearent lack of belly phasers...or any phasers elsewhere other than the six on the saucer.
All hail the messiah!

...which makes it similar to a Phase II version.  Keeping the same weaponry as TOS and adding a few TMP elements.  I'm just happy that there is still some life in Star Trek after all these years. :)

ooh good point... i am a big fan of the Lost series, and i thought Cloverfield was pretty decent...
maybe then i'll go see this movie just to keep an eye out for any hidden references lol

One thing to think about on the phasers though, if the Super Bowl commercial was any indication, they seem to be treating the phasers on the saucer as individual turrets, which means unless something gets right behind the saucer the phasers would be able to hit them.

If the phasers are "phaser turrets" much like the phase cannons of ENTERPRISE, that might be a good thing. Gives the ship a lot better phaser coverage than most of the "Pre-JJverse" ships.
