*sigh*
yet another example of how someone points out their dislikes of this movie only to have more than one person nitpick and debate every single point the person feels...
what is up with that???

hmm well we finally know where R2D2 was... he was located in the debris field.... somewhere on the top portion of the bridge window when they warped in...
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

I recalled that from memory, here is what paramount said...
and no they didn't release any pics.

   R2-D2 LOCATION ANSWER (**SPOILER ALERT**)
During the Drill Machine sequence as the Enterprise comes out of its barrel role amidst destruction of the other Federation ships above Vulcan, we cut to an interior Enterprise bridge over the shoulder of Kirk that is looking out through the front viewscreen. In space, R2-D2 is floating in the debris from about the top middle of the screen to the bottom right.
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

I figured that is where he was, but we really won't be able to confirm it until the DVD comes out.  That seemed the most logical place for ILM to toss in the little droid, they're adept at that kind of thing.

Well, No-one who downloaded the best recorded version can screencap him because to much of the sides are cut off from what I've read.

Most of those cam-recorded versions, from past experiences, aren't high res enough to catch little details like that anyways.  So pretty much we wait until Paramount shows us or the DVD comes out.

As for the actors, I loved all of their performances, though Greenwood and Urban stand out in my mind as the best of them.  Greenwood because he took a character who was only in two episodes and brought life back to him.  Urban because out of all of the actors, he captured the original character so absolutely perfectly that it almost brought tears to my eyes.  It was almost like DeForrest Kelley was back on the screen again.

I suggest that we refrain from discussing illegally obtained film footage.

Yes I agree, Greenwood certainly did make Christopher Pike feel so much more a part of Trek than he ever was before.  However, as of recently, Urban seems less and less a good actor to me.  Unlike Pine and the rest of the main cast, Urban seemed so true to the original that it almost feels like a mockery now.  I can't describe it how I want to, but while Pine and the others felt like a different interpretation, Urban felt like a shadow... an imperfect copy.

I don't know, maybe it's just all the drama going on in my life now.  I feel very pessimistic as of late. :(

EDIT- To throw in a joke, Urban just isn't "the real McCoy".

I agree about the actors. I think the what I missed on Bones was the Typicall MCCoy Vs. Spock arguing. The 3 Sentences after they kicked Kirk of the Ship just weren't enough.

That's what sequels are for. ;)  Which is one thing that Urban himself has said he wants to happen in the next one, more McCoy vs Spock arguments.

Because he wants more screentime.

...Probably not, but the number I get(379.6m) could be considered ?original intent,? a term that I think I will be using from now on, and ?canon? be damned.

Actually, I'd like more screentime dedicated to each of the characters.  We saw how the met, and how they first interacted.  Now I'd like to see how they become best friends and the best crew.

It's a snap-together model kit, unsure if it requires paint or not, but it does have decals.

The thing that's really interesting to me is the deflector, it's different from the other images of the deflector.  Plus if you look carefully, the fins on the nacelles are open, so maybe that's the deflector's "warp" mode?

Snap-together models usually come pre-painted. Thanks for the info.

That deserves a cookie for making me laugh so hard. I must be the only person who doesn't pick up on these things... Maybe I've just been exposed to Internet Disease for too long.
