What's the poly count on this beauty? I've got an nVidia 6100 GPU; will this
eat up a lot of video memory if I've got the Galaxy loaded with a couple of
other ships? What kind of differences can I expect in appearance if I upgrade
my GPU?

what you've got will be fine.

It's about 13k polygons with 4 2048x2048 textures.

That's one amazing ship and I can barely believe how awesome it looks. Like it was straight out of the TNG series.
