I truly can't wait to play this... I've always liked the Nebula series of ships, and the detail you've incorperated into this makes me like them even more. Wonderful.

Indeed. It all looks much better now. The aft shuttlebay area could do with some re-modelling but otherwise it's looking great. Considering the source material you have to work with *cough* P *cough* 81 *cough :P

I hear you DT, personally I don't think the mesh is that bad. I've managed to rid of most of the awful bits such as the nacelles, warp pylons and the bridge dome. Probably the worst part of modding this ship has been editing the UVW texture maps, some areas of the ship such as the secondary hull and weapons pod are just awful. I've done the best I can editing these, in truth certain parts of the ship could do with being re-mapped, but that is beyond my ability...... for now!!  8)

Also DT, I want to thank you for all of your "constructive" comments. Your eye for detail has helped me refine the textures on certain areas of the ship. Theres a cookie for you mate!!

Right on to business.

After posting my last batch of pics I realised that the textures on the aft section were a little to stretched compared to the studio model, I have now corrected this and added a little more detail. Work has now began on the final section.... the weapons pod.

It's tough to make canon textures for a mesh that's just not right.  I salute you sir!

Man, that's some impressive amount of detailing on the aft section of the ship. Thanks for the cookie, it was delicious :D

I love your attention to detail on this, are you planning on dirtying it up a little?

Maybe, I quite like that idea. But my most important goal is to mod a Nebula Class that is as close to canon as possible.  8)

Cheers for the suggestion!!

Update

Hi people, work to the weapons pod has been completed. Without a doubt this section of the ship has probably been the most difficult to complete, there is a great deal of detail cramed on to a fairly small area so I've increased the resolution of the pod tga file to 1024x1024 to give sharper textures and allow for the extra detail.

I've tried to make it as canon as possible but with a few exceptions, for instance I've not included registries on the pod which can be seen in the reference pics, this is because as the pods are interchangeable for use on different ships it made sense not to include them.

I think it's looking ok but I may change a few things, what do you guys think!?.... c&c welcome!!.

ah, its getting difficult for a non-native speaker, lol, but I give my best ;)

these two things positioned in the aft of the pod on the black parts are extruded(hopefulkly the right voc^^) on the reference pic.
But you made the complete opposite, you mnade something like a whole...
or maybe its just an optical delusion...

I didn't doubt you for a second, great job, I see no errors at all.

But now, seeing something as detailed as this, I must ask.  Will you be doing the Phoenix and Melbourne Variants as well?  They could definitely use a makeover like this.
