If it's any help to you...

The Century Class is not a warship.  My intention was for it to represent a return to the 'multi-mission' category of Starship, such as the Galaxy Class did 40 years before this class was launcher.  (First Galaxy started testing around 2355, this ship commissioned in 2395)  First and foremost, the Century Class is an Explorer.  The heavy shielding, armor, and weapons are simply required for the ship to be able to execute any and all Starfleet policy options, including defense.

That being said, the Galaxy Class did receive a combat capability upgrade in the 2370's when it became necessary, so I suppose if there were a need for this ship to be upgraded in the early years of the 25th century (hence the name) then it's not inconceivable.

Btw, if anyone's curious, I first got the idea of the name Century Class when I was driving down a freeway and a big rig pulled up along side me.  On the side of the engine cover it read "Century Class".

Too much black panelling if you ask me.

A change of deflector color could indicate a refit such as one of your first pics of this retexturing. Perhaps some moddest additions in the form of dark grey or black panneling could be an indication as to added ablative hull armor components. But not to the extent you have now to be honest.

I usually hate War refits. But your retexture has changed my whole perspective on them. Excellent work.

PS: Original Ent-F still kicks major a**!!!

PPS: Please dont port it to Legacy Meteor. Its too good for 'them'.
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

Wow, we're TELEPATHIC!!! O_O

I was working on a retexture of this ship about a month ago and it actually turned out to be a 'torn-apart-and-put-back-together' ship in MS3D. It's incredible how similar our armor ideas are. :) The major difference is that I added a third and fourth nacelle to the model and, to be honest, save for the textures for the top of the saucer and hull between the nacelle pylons, it didn't actually turn out too well. In any case, it was a HUGE learning experience... and you're doing this better than I did, so... CHEERS!!  :D Besides, I have a much more fun project now...

Again, this is cool!

-Aeries.

(Oh, yeah, by the way... any chace you could throw together a USS Serenity with this? It was the name I was giving my original project, but since it was dumped... :/ I dunno, just always wanted a Century-class USS Serenity...  :P up to you!)

I'm releasing a blank texture set shortly, so you'll be able to do that easily on your own.

I have a suggestion.  Since throwing black or dark grey paneling on a ship makes it look more warlike.  So instead, why not go back to using a secondary color scheme, like on the ambassador Class.  Feds have used Duck egg blue and whatever that light yellow is in the past.  Though I'm not positive that it will even look decent on the century, but I thought it was worth throwing out there to see what people thought.

intriguing, i like the color scheme that you have so far

Shion's idea is a good one as well...

so, why not do both?  a normal refit and a "tactical" refit?

Im gonna use that 'tactical refit' Jericho if you don't mind. I shall make 2 versions..the one that you see here shall be known as the Tactical Refit, and the other shall be a 2 tone ship used for diplomatic escort.

heh, it just occurred to me that "Jericho" would make a fine name for one of these vessels.

Can't wait to see what you can come up with Meteorafallen, your retextures are always interesting.
