Very nice Bones :D  Love the color scheme too.

P.S.
I don't mind milkshape, is what I use to model all my ships and bases.  Although I'm sure Max is better (and I'm slowly finding this out), but I'm still very good with milkshape.

You said you were thinking of adding another impulse engine to the mesh, and wanted phaser arrays?

How's this for a work around?

In case you're wondering, I just swapped the bay texture out for the impulse texture, and voila, instant impulse.

And the rail phasers.  I deleted the banks, capped the holes, and extruded them slightly so they would have the general appearance of phaser arrays.

Not exactly fancy, but it gets the job done.

If this vessel is supposed to be post-Nemesis, wouldn't the phaser arrays be similar to designs of that era? Doesn't really matter if you model them, or paint them on as a texture, but they should be a lot thinner, right?

This is great place for additional impulse :D thanks for great idea :D as for the phaser banks this is only for saucer but what I need is phasers all over the ship and like always there is helpful Lint :D you've got perfect timing mate :D I'll catch you on msn tomorrow.
as for the deflector I just swaped it with the deflector I made fot Lint's excesior tho I'll remake it to fit TNG era, take a look on the pic below.

They will be modeled and up to date :D

Probably, but that little work around I did was using the existing mesh.  It was just something that came to me when I saw this thread, and I couldn't resist exploring the possibility.

Not sure about the Constitution Refit-esque nacelles. Would it not be better to design entirely new nacelles in a style reminescent of the Sovvy/Prometheus design? Since it's Post-Dominion War I mean... My point is, if your doing a Post-Dominion War ship, would it not be prudent to go the whole nine yards on the project, and not just limit yourself to retexturing the ship and changing nacelles?

Texturing thus far looks great, and fits perfectly alongside the Sovereign Class. A brand new explorer-type ship to replace the aging Nebula/Galaxy classes wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Perhaps Starfleet chose to do a complete overhaul of the ship class, effectively creating a new class of ship since the Excelsior Class had fared so well for over 80 years as well as managed well during at least 2 wars ("Federation vs Cardassians" and "Federation/Klingon/Romulan vs Dominion").

Three Wars. Throw the ad hoc Klingon-Federation War in there from DS9, where Excelsiors did the brunt of the orbital fighting.

I'm all for keeping it the Excelsior namewise. That girl never needs to die.

Make sure the model is nice and super poly! That way she will transition easily into Excalibur (knock on wood) :D.

That blue deflector makes all the difference in the world.

The ship doesnt need to be "super high poly". Atm I believe no ships currently planned for Excalibur exceeds 15k polygons. If people decide to make ships for use in Excalibur (post-release), they should aim for around the same count. Don't forget, the engine has support for bump mapping which helps add detail through textures, and a strong possibility of adding parallax mapping for even greater detail. My point is, you don't have to go super high poly to achieve great detail.

On Topic: My biggest suggestion as already stated, is the possible replacement with a Sovvy/Prommie-esque designed nacelles, preferrably created from scratch. Rest of the ship looks great with its new texturing.

Wow, nice retexture of the Sorcerer, really looks nice.  Personally I like the model as is, the texturing makes the ship look really cool though.  Oh and while I'm probably in the minority, I liked the yellow Sovereign deflector, hope it will be included on at least one of the ships in the pack.  So have a cookie and keep up the excellent work.

Yellow deflector will be available on the older variant, there will be 5 ships, 2 of them will have yellow the rest will have blue, thx for the cookie btw. :D

Dunno if anything can be done here cuz this is not my model and I don't know if it is ok to rename it even if this ship is going to have different nacelles, phasers etc.

They are the two red glowing things on each side of the nacelles. Turn them off and give them a dark grey-orange color ;)

If I won't replace those nacelles I'll change it, for now I'll look after some more up to date nacelles than those :D

WZ doesn't mind retextures of his work, so long as he's asked for permission before release, and you make sure he's properly credited.

Personally, I also keep his original readme with whatever bashes I make out of his ships, in addition to making my own readme.  That way if anyone says I tried to steal his work, all anyone has to do is download the ship I bashed and uploaded and check to see if WZ's original readme files are included.
